The next “For Promotional Use Only” pair from Revive Customs comes in the form of this Nike Air More Uptempo. The pair pays tribute to a little bit more of a well established record label, with a gradient in place along the jumbo “AIR” hit that matches that found on old Motown releases. What’s more, there’s a map style print on the toe cap and tongue badge that is also a direct reference to the graphics from Motown vinyl. Cole Haan Lunargrand “Knicks” Customs by Revive for Spike Lee

April 5th, 2013 by | 4 comments

cole haan spike lee revive 1 Cole Haan Lunargrand Knicks Customs by Revive for Spike Lee

The Cole Haan Lunargrand seems to be a favorite of Spike Lee’s, as he’s been spotted several times wearing the Lunar-ed out wingtips, saddles, and chukkas from time to time. It looks like he wanted to add some special flavor, so Revive Customs rose to the occasion and reworked a fragment design x Cole Haan Lunargrand Saddle in “Knicks” style, with orange soles, a royal blue upper with jersey material holes, and brown leather uppers. This special Birthday edition for Spike Lee is quite the follow-up to Revive’s amazing “1928″ custom editions that we showed you not long ago, and when seeing them on Spike’s feet when he was sitting courtside during Carmelo’s half-dollar against the Heat earlier this week, they look even better! We hope this only marks the beginning of a string of Cole Haan customs, so check out the exclusive photos of the shoes and Spike below and let us know what you think.

Do-it-all sneaker customizer Revive has steadily impressed us with his restorations and sole-swaps of the bulkiest of vintage Nike Basketball shoes, but today we’re hit one of the most luxurious projects to ever grace the Sneaker News front page – this Cole Haan Lunargrand Wingtip. The concept behind this one is a historical tribute to the company, with “1928″ featured on the upper to call out the brand’s inaugural year, with other 1900′s vintage-inspired cues to note Cole Haan’s legendary position in the high-end footwear industry. The floral and ornamental graphics are details typically found in old Singer sewing machines, which achieves a great “old meets new” approach when juxtaposed with the futuristic Lunar outsole. Definitely a treat for the older sneakerheads who have made the seamless transition into the Lunargrand, so check out the gallery below and let us know what you think.

nike air force 180 unlimited spurs customs 1 Nike Air Unlimited Sole Swap Spurs Customs by Revive Restorations

Sneaker customizer Revive Customs has been doing his thing as one of the best sole-swapper of the games, choosing far more delicate vintage items and reviving them with fresh foundations. He’s been spreading his knowledge of transplanting outsoles to his newest employee Jai Cruz aka Revive Restorations, which just completed this amazing swapped custom of the Air Unlimited and Air Force 180 Mid. The Nike Air Unlimited was one of David Robinson’s go-to shoes back in the day, which serves as the proper platform to push off of for this sick “Spurs” custom, using the classic teal/pink/orange streaks beneath the mid-foot straps on the Unlimited upper. We’ve got a detailed gallery below so check out the angles and stay tuned for more amazing works from the Revive Customs camp.

Revive Customs has another joint on deck that will definitely drum up some nostalgia for students of hip-hop culture. Shown here is the Nike LeBron X done up with a ‘Tommy Boy’ look as borrowed from the, now extinct, record label of the same name. The posing man from said logo is planted across the upper in an all-over look, one that stays in line with the Heat colors already established by this Nike LeBron X. adidas rivalry lo revive customs adidas Rivalry Lo Red Eye Customs by Revive

How good is your knowledge of ancient sewing machines? If you’re up on your history in that realm then you don’t need an explanation, but if not then follow us here: the adidas Rivalry Lo ‘Red Eye’ gets its name and ornate patterning from the Singer 66 model of the same name. The snakeskin prints on the base model still shine through to complete this mashup of the contemporary (that reptile Rivalry Lo dropped just last year) and the classic (the Red Eye dropped back in 1902). Stay with us after the jump for a detailed look at the pair and let us know your thoughts on this latest piece from Revive.
