The New Balance 1500 isn’t a sneaker we see pop up too often in the customs category, but when it does it seems to consistently don some of the more creative re-workings we’ve seen in the DIY sneaker world. The pair pictured is that small-N silo re-imagined as the New Balance 1200 in an homage to the Technics SL-1200, that classic turntable that your DJ wannabe friend in high school was always bragging about spinning on. Here Revive Customs slaps the Technics logo on back, runs some dots along the mudguard to mimic the lateral view of that prized equipment, and even flips the 1500 embroidery around to make the transformation complete. Click through for a full look at the New Balance ’1200′ and let us know what you think in the comments.

Update: As of now you can grab the New Balance ’1200′ from revive_customs on eBay.

Has there ever been an alternate ego as fitting as ‘Revive‘? Dude literally takes shoes on their deathbeds and turns them into brand-spankin’ new designs. Take note, sneaker customizers – there’s more than Angelus Paint involved. This latest custom that Revive dubs as ‘The Admiral’ is a transformation of a pair of OG AF180 Pumps in a colorway taken straight from David Robinson’s Admiral uniform (and peep the multi-colored FORCE tongue that mimics the ribbons). We also get a look at the shoes before they were revived, so it’s even more amazing to see just how skillful Revive Customs really is. More of this amazing revival after the jump, so take a look and let us know what you think.

Air Jordan V “Corona” Customs by Revive

With standout models like the ‘Metallic Silver’ OG, ‘Wolf Grey’ and ‘Quai 54′ drops, last July’s ‘USA’ Air Jordan V was one of 2011′s sleeper Air Jordan Legacy releases.  All that white patent leather makes them a fairly blank canvas for custom work, and longtime sneaker handcrafter Revive recognized the opportunity to combine a love of Jays with the concept of not just flying through the air toward the hoop, but also en route to a deserted island paradise.  The ‘Corona’ Air Jordan 5 custom adds familiar branding, bottlecap dubraes and a wholly unique medial colorblocking to this familiar silhouette that’s poised to bless us once again in the coming year; would you rather have a pair of these and a few fresh limes, or say, a ‘Fire Red’ or ‘Grape’ OG as slated for next spring?  Let us know after you’ve seen more on the other side and stick with Sneaker News for all the 2013 Air Jordan V release dates.

While the upcoming retro pairs will arrive sans the classic pump mechanism, there is at least one lone wolf out there in the world of customs bent on resurrecting the Nike Air Force 180 High in true OG form. Revive already went to town on one pair, breathing some new life into them via a crafty sole swap, and he’s back again this time with a colorway tune up. The murderous moniker references this, with the Dave Robinson special getting dipped in an almost all black look. Click through with us to check out the results and let us know if you would pick up a pair like the Nike Air Force 180 High ‘Murder’ if it were to magically appear in the retro lineup.

Air Jordan X “Hanes” Customs By Revive

air jordan x hanes customs 6 Air Jordan X Hanes Customs By Revive

The most recent Air Jordan X profiled here on Sneaker News was the insanely patterned ‘Fresh Prince’ Custom, and now here’s an entirely new way of connecting the Ten to an ‘inside-out’ theme.  The placement of the namesake logo on the ‘Hanes’ Air Jordan X custom is so attention-grabbing it should come with a suspiciously slim moustache as a reminder that it takes a beloved public character of spotless repute to pull off mainstream men’s underwear endorsements.  This reimagination of the ‘Chicago’ Air Jordan 10 that retroed this January adds ‘waistbands’ to the eyestay to further the design; does the fact that modern streetwear moved past the ‘saggy’ look make these even more of a time-capsule throwback?  Let us know what you think of Revive Customs‘ latest work when you’re on the other side examining more images and stick with Sneaker News for all the best custom Air Jordans.

Nike Air Force 180 High Pump – Sole Swap Customs by Revive

nike air force 180 pump soleswap 1 Nike Air Force 180 High Pump Sole Swap Customs by Revive

The ‘pressure’ is on Nike Sportswear to bring back the original pump mechanism for the Air Force 180 High, though it appears manufacturing costs combined with the fact that it’d no longer be a performance leader, will keep that true OG form at bay at least for now.  Take the call for that ‘true’ retro and invert it, and you might end up with a project like this that applies a more recent tooling kit to the bottom of a 1991 original Nike Air Force 180 High.  Revive Customs not only did good work in the assembly process, but the choice of an AF180 Mid sole from 2006 paired with this OG style proves that the latter was inspired by this red and orange-accented design.  These are right up there with the best sole swaps in terms of both integration and execution, not to mention likely being the most obscure ‘canvas’ for this kind of project we’ve seen to date; where does this pump-equipped Air Force 180 High compare to the other sole swaps we’ve showcased here on Sneaker News?

Nike Dunk High ‘Jekyll & Hyde’ Customs By Revive

nike dunk high jekyll and hyde revive customs 3 Nike Dunk High Jekyll & Hyde Customs By Revive

Sneaker Customs have become an acceptable form of expressive art thanks to the great concepts and craftsmanship that we’ve seen over the last few years. Revive Customs is one of the major players in the ever-growing Sneaker Custom game, serving up blockbusters like the Air Jordan 1 ‘What The One’ from 2009 to his jaw-dropping Air Trainer 1 that he fashioned for Niketalk’s Help Haiti Custom Sneaker Auctions. His latest vision arrives in the form of the Dunk High, using the pair to express his interpretation of the classic tale of Jekyll & Hyde; using a wide array of materials, like the red netting on the tongue and what appears to a braided hair-like material on the toe-box border. Check out the gallery of images below and let us know what you think of this latest custom work.
