Solebox continues to explore the natural world with the nickname for their latest Saucony collaboration adding a layer of meaning to the colorways we’d seen teased last week. The Solebox x Saucony Shadow 5000 ‘Lucanid‘ follows up on the blackbird-inspired ‘Sturnella Militaris’ Reebok CLs with two styles in tribute to the monstrously mandibled stag beetle. The Berlin boutique reports more details will follow but we know that limited numbers will drop on Friday, June 15th and there’s a set of images you’ll want to see below.

Solebox is no stranger to crafting their own colorups for Saucony shoes. As a matter of fact, they’re no stranger to the Saucony Shadow 5000, having already worked with the model once before in 2013 via their “Three Brothers Pack”. This next joint on the way from them looks be a bit of a darker affair, with the color pushed onto the insides via the super bright lining. There’s no word yet on a specific theme surrounding the sneaker, but as well all know the Solebox team loves to tell stories with their releases, so expect more on that soon. Play Cloths follows up its last collaborative release with Saucony with this new set of Shadow 5000s dubbed the “Cotton Candy Pack”. Built with lux suede uppers and featuring the iconic starry perforated toe-boxes, Play Cloths’ latest rendition of the Saucony Shadow 5000 is defined by three distinct pastel colors that represent the fluffy sweets often see at carnivals, street fairs, and other summer-time family outings. All three feature tonal uppers of Dream Blue, Coral Almond, and Mimosa with white midsoles, gum outsoles, special inner linings, and the aforementioned star detailing at the toe-box, laying out the perfect “summer shoe” vibe. The Play Cloths x Saucony Shadow 5000 “Cotton Candy Pack” will release in limited numbers in the coming weeks – first exclusively for users of the Swaag iPhone App (download for free and be first in line to cop) followed by a later release at select retailers, so enjoy the exclusive gallery below and stay tuned for a firm release date.

The “Precious Metals Pack” wasn’t the only thing cooked up between Play Cloths and Saucony it appears. Shown here are a couple teasers from some forthcoming releases via the team up, a set that once again takes place on the Saucony Shadow 5000. This time around it’s an all suede affair, with the sneakers again sporting the starry perforations all across their pastel uppers. Does Pusha T‘s output with this classic running imprint match the stuff put out by boutiques like Packer Shoes or Bodega? The most recent team up between Solebox and Saucony won’t be a strictly German affair in terms of retail availability, as the pinkish pair from the group can be had at worldwide Saucony doors. The sneakers from the ‘Three Brothers Pack’ are indeed finding their way around the world, and have most recently landed at Extra Butter out in Long Island. As it turns out the Hanon x Saucony project is one that smashes two separate Saucony retro models together into one brand new silhouette (A precedent set by Bodega’s earlier hybrid movements). The Saucony Master Control upper is planted on top of the Saucony Shadow 5000 sole kit. As far as materials go they’ve selected a mixture of pig suede, full grain leather, satin, and 3M. In a sneaker market where everything is available everywhere, it’s kind of refreshing to see a bonafide exclusive every once in a while. The new Solebox x Saucony ‘Three Brothers’ pack has a couple of those in its midst in the form of the green and orange Saucony Shadow 5000 colorways included. Those two pairs will launch exclusively at Solebox (instore and online) on February 16th, while the purple will make its way to a couple more international spots (including Hanon, Foot Patrol, Oki-Ni, End, Crooked Tongues, SneakersNStuff, Shoe Chapter, 24 Kilates, and more) on February 23rd. The Big Apple’s own West NYC showed that they’re a force to be reckoned with in the sneaker collaboration game last year with their New Balance MT580 ‘Alpine Guide’ release. And they’re stepping up to the plate once again, this time taking on a silhouette from the likes of Saucony. The silo in question looks to be the Saucony Shadow 5000, a model that’s been touched on by Play Cloths and Solebox as of late.
