Following up on his transformation of the ‘Laney’ colorway into a Despicable Me sendup, sneaker customizer Sekure D comes through with another Air Jordan V inspired by a fictional character with big box office numbers.  This ‘Smash’ Jordan 5 custom takes on a look based on The Incredible Hulk, including green muscle fibers throughout, ‘ripped’ purple at the rear and a smashed concrete in between.  The layout and serpentine toe graphics connect these with the ‘Mech V’ edition Sekure D showed us about a month ago (which also looks to have been started from this year’s ‘Grape’ retro); where does this Hulk custom rank against some of the other more intricately detailed Vs we’ve seen over the years?  Let us know once you’ve seen more photos below and stick with Sneaker News for the latest customs.

air jordan 5 minion customs Air Jordan 5 Minion Customs by Sekure D

You’ve got to be a real big fan of Despicable Me to look at the Air Jordan 5 “Laney” release and see it as something more than a tribute to Michael Jordan’s high school alma mater. That’s what one custom of Sekure D did-noticing the overlap between those tones and those from the beloved minion characters. And so Sekure went to work, outfitting the shoe with all sorts of little callouts to those strange creatures. While this new creation from Sekure D does utilize a bit of the infamous Tiffany colors, it certainly isn’t your run of the mill creation of that sort. Instead, the upgraded Air Jordan 5 “Grape” sports a handful of touches that have become synonymous with this Australian creator. There’s his robot pattern up front, a colorful asphalt print, and a slightly reworked “23″ hit in a font that feels intrinsically comic book-y (Remember that this release didn’t have the 23 embroidery in the first place). Continue reading for a full gallery of photos and then get in touch with Sekure D for inquiries.

air jordan 4 tiffiti customs Air Jordan 4 TIFFiti Customs by Sekure D

Sekure D is a custom sneaker creator whose work more often than not has some sort of comic book inspiration. This time around he breaks character with this pair, an Air Jordan 4 that borrows a bit from the Nike SB line. In case you couldn’t recognize the theme in question-he aimed at the Tiffany blue shade from Diamond Supply Co’s crown achievement Dunk collab. Of course he still put some of his patended touches across the upper, like that carnage print and a little bit of graffiti lettering. See the shoe in full detail after the break and then get in touch with Sekure D if you feel like you want your own pair of one-offs.

Air Jordan IV “Sinner City” Customs by Sekure D

air jordan iv sinner customs Air Jordan IV Sinner City Customs by Sekure D

Mr. Sekure D must be pretty into the comic book world given how regularly his custom work dips into themes from that realm. Shown is another “Sin City” custom from the Australian. The sneakers actually stay within the lines of the colors most commonly associated with Jordan Brand just by coincidence. What’s more they were delivered to a celeb customer-Bernard James of the Dallas Mavericks (It’s a shame that his team’s colors mean that he likely won’t be lacing them up on court anytime soon). Continue reading for more on this custom Jordan 4 and give us your thoughts on the pair down in the comments.
