Earlier in February, Nike+ introduced the revolutionary FuelBand, a state-of-the-art motion-tracker that keeps your physical activity in check using a universal currency called ‘Fuel’. Upon its release, the FuelBand was one of the hottest commodities in the accessory department as it was a heavily sought-after by both the hardcore training community, and the Nike-obsessed ‘collectors’ who just loved the high-tech appeal of the FuelBand. Later this month, Nike will finally release a second colorway of the Fuel-Band dubbed ‘Ice’, which features a translucent casing that reveals all of the innards. On July 27th, select Nike locations such as NikeTown NY, San Francisco, and London as well as London’s Boxpark, the House of Innovation at Selfridges, and 21 Mercer in NYC will release the FuelBand Ice, while a delayed release on Nikestore will hit on August 12th.

“The only way to answer your question…is with more questions.”
During the first two lectures discussing the beginning levels of the Kobe System, self-improvement guru Kobe Bryant provided some profound insight for Aziz Ansari and Serena Williams, helping them achieve success beyond success. The focus now goes on Chinese superstar entertainer Wang Leehom, who struggles with the perception of the Nike Zoom Kobe VII and a Great White Shark as integral components of the Kobe System instead of independent entities. The most important lesson he learns is that Wang now understands that he must perceive himself as something greater than great – which can lead to, say, five NBA titles and four All-Star Game MVPs. Check out the full video of Level 3 of the Nike KobeSystem below and check out some pictoral guidelines depicting ‘Adaptation’ and ‘Success’ below.

It only happens a few times each year, so you know when Sneaker News turns our attention to cutting edge tennis shoes, we’re getting close to a Grand Slam event. The Australian Open is the first of the four major tournaments each year, and Nike’s sending two of the top three men, two of the top five ladies and two up and comers in fresh new gear. Arguable GOAT and four-time Aussie winner Roger Federer gets a Swiss-style kit along with neon accents on his Nike Zoom Vapor Tour 9, while arch nemesis Rafael Nadal opts for green on his shirt but more of a focus on bright blue with the latest Air Max Courtballistec 4.3. Young Croation Bernard Tomic proved with his upset of the 22 seed in Round 1 that he’s deserving of recognition if not yet a signature sneaker, as is the case for ladies 5-seed Na Li. Nike keeps the WMNS side on equal footing thanks to a new Air Max Mirabella 3 for Serena Williams along with Maria Sharapova’s Lunar Speed 3 lowtops. “Where do you go from the top? You go . . . over the top.”
And what if you’re already really successful? Just thank Kobe Bryant. The Black Mamba formally welcomed us to the #KobeSystem over the weekend in a tongue-in-cheek setting that blends a Tony Robbins-style motivational speech with a bit of Oprah under-your-seat giveaway. Tony himself was on hand, as were a bunch of other extremely successful folks like Sir Richard Branson, Kanye West, Paul Rodriguez and Serena Williams, along with the comic stylings of Aziz Ansari. You might not think that a quirkily ironic video like this would even need comic relief, but Aziz’ lines are well placed and bring us full-circle on all the teaser videos we saw last week. Click through to see more and be on the lookout for more Nike Kobe VII System ’testimonial’ videos in the weeks to come.
