It’s been a while since we’ve shown a sneaker cake on Sneaker News, but with the recent good news regarding the revival of the OG Hostess Twinkies for this Summer, our spirits are definitely high enough to show these kicks made for dessert. At the focus is the December 2012 release of the Air Jordan IV ‘Thunder’ in Black and Tour Yellow, but the IV model alone is a tough task considering all the intricate lines on the netting, the lace eyelets, the signature wings on the upper, and the back heel-tab. We’ve got a gallery below so check out the Air Jordan IV ‘Thunder’ Cake below and if you’ve got some high-quality sneaker cakes to show off, hit us up on Twitter.

Air Jordan XIII ‘Ray Allen’ Sneaker Cake

Eat your sneaker cakes! Most of the sneaker cakes we’ve shown you have been photographed in their complete, intact, ‘deadstock’ form, so seeing it sliced open at the toe-box and revealing the chocolate cake and strawberry icing innards might make your cringe just a bit. This special cake was the centerpiece of the surprise birthday part with a ‘Celtics’ theme, and what better sneaker to use as the model for a cake than the Air Jordan XIII ‘Ray Allen’? Structurally, the Air Jordan XIII is one of the more intricate ones out there, with the funky midsole and dimpled upper, but this one’s done rather handily, even with the ‘RAY’ PE logo on the tongue. More shots of this great sneaker cake after the jump, so take a look and let us know what you think! via beansietime on NT

Air Jordan XI ‘Bred’ Sneaker Cake

With some sneaker cakes, you’re just happy they’re made of sugar and flour because while a decent sneaker cake is better than none, some are obviously truer to their inspiration than others.  Take for example this ‘Bred’ Air Jordan XI pastry cooked up by a young culinary student named Sandia, an edible replica you might have trouble discerning from the real thing from a distance.  This cake nails all the details on the Eleven from its unmistakable glossy patent leather mudguard to the game changing carbon fiber shank plate.  The only way these stray from the OG is their use of the new style AJXI box we’ve come to expect over the past few holidays, the kind of thing that has us wondering what a box with Bred 11s and a couple of shoe trees might look like (possibly in a year from now?).  Click through to see more angles and let us know if this is the tastiest Air Jordan confection we’ve seen so far here on Sneaker News.  via Just Whisk It!

It’s been a while since the last Sneaker Cake, but every time these tasty treats surface, we can’t help but show ‘em! Here’s a look at a sneaker cake molded in the form of the Air Jordan 1 ‘Banned’, made for NT member CJDynasty’s 27th birthday, who shows off his celebratory masterpiece alongside the actual shoes. It’s apparent that these cake bosses are getting better and better by the day with these sneaker cakes, because the detail on this ‘Banned’ cake is rather impressive; the perforations on the toe-box, the Nike Air logo on the tongue, and the ‘Banned’ X logo on the shoes as well as on the box are all spot on! Sneaker News wishes a Happy Birthday to a fellow sneakerhead, but for the rest of you, enjoy the sweet pics below!
