For the fourth year in a row, the Sneaker News staff went on a weeks-long search for the greatest sneakers in specific categories, reaching out to our loyal readers with a tournament-style feature with the goal of whittling down thirty-two candidates to one sole winner. With Foamposites being such a hot item over the last few years, the category for the 2013 Tournament seemed like a given, and with thirty-two great Foamposite releases to choose from, it truly seemed like it was anyone’s game. Although there were a few tight races and surprising upsets on the way, four #1 seeds reached the Final Four, and the Championship battle was a face-off between the two undoubted polar opposites of the Foamposite spectrum – the original “Royal” and the game-changing “Galaxy”. We’ve come to a final conclusion for the tournament here, and we can say with confidence that result is one we can roll with! In 2010, the Sneaker News staff brought the sneaker category to March Madness, starting with an all-out slugfest between Air Jordans, Nike Basketball, Air Force 1s, and SB Dunks – with the Air Jordan XI coming out on top as the best sneaker of all-time. Since then, we’ve continued the Madness with two straight Air Jordan categories, so a felt a change was due. Choosing Foamposites for this year’s tournament seemed like the perfect call, andwith Foams evolving from a regional hit to a nationwide phenomenon, it was time for our loyal readers and Foamposite fanatics to crown the best ever. Thirty-two Foam candidates have been narrowed down to two, and we can say with confidence that no other releases since the original year in 1997 deserve to be in the Championship Round than the two featured here. The voting starts now, so take a look below to see why the Royals and Galaxy each deserve to win this coveted title and be sure to place your vote as we near the conclusion of this successful Sneaker News March Madness Foamposite Tournament.

The Final Four round of the Sneaker News March Madness Foamposite Tournament is now ready to launch, with four of the #1 seeds ready to battle it out for the title of the greatest Nike Air Foamposite sneaker of all-time. The OG Royals, the ParaNormans, the Coppers, and the Galaxy were all expected to meet at this apex of tournament-style play, but now it truly is anyone’s game as all four have every right to earn the title of best ever. The Sneaker News March Madness Foamposite Tournament kicked off a few weeks ago and with each passing week, we took a giant leap forward toward naming the greatest Nike Air Foamposite sneaker of all-time. We’ve reached the iconic round of four finalists otherwise known as The Final Four, and quite honestly, the results aren’t too surprising as all four #1 overall seeds in their respective regions had made it this far. The Sneaker News March Madness Foamposite Tournament continues as we reach the Elite 8 Round of voting, and with the exception of one spunky underdog in the Southeast region, the entire octet of Foamposite players are pretty much the best ones we originally billed as. Still, it’s not a lock for all #1 seeds to move to the Final Four round, so the voting is still very much important as we near the Championship round! In addition, we’re changing up the voting by opening up all four regions in the Elite 8 tonight, so stay tuned for the Elite 8 polls to go up tonight and see the full breakdown of the Sweet 16 voting below.

In this round of voting, the Air Foamposite One “Copper” matches up against a forgotten House of Hoops-exclusive release in the Neo Lime (a poor man’s ParaNorman), while the popular “Pearl” attempts to put the #6 seed Bright Crimson in its place.
