Another Oregon PE? You know it: Jordan Brand hooked up the Ducks with a sick Air Jordan IV PE. On top of that, Sneaker News got you some info for Air Jordan releases from January through May of 2013. NSW head Gentry Humphrey hinted at a possible release of ParaNormans for retail, a third Yeezy 2 colorway, and another All-Star-inspired Foamposite release. Nike Basketball had a major week with the unveiling of the KD V, a first look at two Kobe VIII colorways, and a breakdown of the Nike LeBron X. The Yeezy 2 also made a resurgence to the headlines as we were teased with the thought of a third colorway. Air Force 1s continue to impress as we wind down to the Supreme x Air Force 1 release, but a ‘Digi Camo’ version of the Lunar Force 1 was also worth noting. Nike’s Action Sports wing makes some noise with two outstanding snowboard boots, and NSW’s collaboration with atmos brings ‘glow’ back onto the scene.
adidas made some impressive headlines for two major reasons; the Rose 3 is indeed spreading out some great colorways with backstories, but it’s the battle with Nike Flyknit that raised our eyebrows. The Gel Lyte III returns front and center with Fieg’s next collaboration, as does New Balance with a nice collection of upcoming releases like the NYC Marathon Pack and the Year of the Snake. Converse goes crazy with the collaborations, while Vans makes its presence felt once again with a great Taka Hayashi-centric event in NYC. Sneaker Con is scheduled for an NYC comeback the weekend before Thanksgiving. Finally, Sneaker News took a look back at five iconic Nike Tennis models for Classics Revisited, throwing out names like Jon McEnroe, Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi, and even Foamposite. All of Weekly Rewind is yours for the taking below, so check it out and enjoy the weekend!

A first look at the Air Huarache Retro for 2013 was presented, as was a more advanced running model in the Lunar Flyknit One. A collection of NBA-inspired Bespokes provided some nice visuals, as did the ‘Presidential’ Edition inspired by the actual Air Force One aircraft and the crazy graphic-printed CMFT edition.
The Air Force 180 Mid continues to titillate us with a sick rollout of colorways, while Nike SB headlines kept it relevant with some new Koston and Janoski releases. A first look at some 2013 Air Max releases like the EM-built Sunset Pack and the 2013 flagship sparked some more discussion regarding the direction of Air Max as well. Air Force 1s will continue to be a massive headline, and it certainly is this week thanks to the ‘Presidential’ Air Force 1 and the Lunar Force Low.
Stussy chums it up with Nike again with a sick nine-pair collection of the OMS “S&S Capsule”. Another rock-solid week for fans of Jordans, Nike Basketball, Ewing, Nike SB, adidas, Reebok, and more! Starting off – a release date has been confirmed for the Air Jordan IV ‘Thunder’ and the Grape V has been confirmed for 2013. Some more Air Jordan IXs in the ‘Kilroy’ theme have also surfaced. Sneaker News broke the news of the Supreme x Nike Air Force 1, while Golden State Warrior David Lee showed off his Home and Away Hyperposites. Another look at the Zoom KD V along with some nice Nike SB Dunk releases also created some buzz, while an official launch event for the adidas Rose 3 and adidas Rose Apparel line kept the Three Stripes brand in the mix.
Reebok kept it old-school with a Ruff Ryders team-up (remember Swizz’ affiliation with the camp), while some great Asics and New Balance collaborations kept the energy around their classic runners. Celebrity Feet was abuzz thanks to Nate Robinson’s Air Yeezy 2 basketball outings and Teyana Taylor’s impressive Ewings, and a great Evolution of Nike Air feature provided a nice lesson to those unaware of the history of Nike’s most notable technology. We focused on the Air Jordan II for the PE spotlight, but an interesting Air Jordan IV sample from 2006 might’ve stolen the show. Custom kicks were also a hot topic, particularly Mache’s ‘Flux Capacitor’ Mags. Finally, adidas got some love as part of our Classics Revisited feature, as we gave some attention to some of their most memorable releases of the last decade. How was your Labor Day? While you were able to relax and enjoy the day off the Sneaker News team made sure that it wasn’t a slow one in terms of your favorite footwear, keeping you updated on all the pertinent news out there for the three day weekend and well into the no-wearing-white season. The epic ShoeZeum makes its new home in Las Vegas with our guys on the ground covering the event. The LeBron X keeps poking its head up, the latest getting away from the ‘Heat’ for a moment with a chilly blue look. Elsewhere in signature sneakers Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul both get a surprise release date for their next iterations with Jordan Brand. A custom creator cuts up his pair of Air Jordan IV’s and pours milk inside them (don’t try this at home). Nike SB plants itself firmly in the headlines once again with another obvious Air Jordan-esque pair, with collaborator Brooklyn Projects whipping up a ‘Concord’ looking Dunk Low.
SoleFly out in Miami joins the rarefied air of sneaker spots to lock down a collabo with Jordan Brand, coloring up a Jordan Spiz’ike with a local Miami Hurricanes look. Celebs show up in droves to the MTV Video Music Awards, with a select few among them making some sneakerhead moves (‘Supreme’ Dunks, ‘Golden Moment’ Air Jordan VII’s, and more). Of course for the celebs we can’t forget Whoopi Goldberg, who turned heads on The View with her Foamposite selection. The summer closes out with a bang, as the last week of August wraps up today with plenty of promises of premium footwear just beyond the horizon. The Nike LeBron X continues to win folks over, with a couple new colorways and even a release date popping up. Other sig news arrives from the Jordan Brand front thanks in part to Carmelo Anthony, who revealed the still un-released Jordan Melo M8 Advance. And if that wasn’t tantalizing enough the retro department brought one particularly exciting preview: the first shot of next year’s Air Jordan V retro lacking the ’23′ hit that would typically steer things away from OG orientation. Oh and speaking of His Airness, we touch on another of his classic moments via our Was it The Shoes? feature.
The Nike Air Force 1′s 30th birthday carries on, seemingly caught in a ‘Foamposite’ theme at the moment as multiple more shots from that cross campus silo stew were revealed. The Nike Air Foamposite One proper is still keeping to itself just a little bit though, with a stealthy pair set to reverse the recent colorful trend just a bit. Beyond Beaverton, New Balance brings in some heavy duty tastemakers for a two-sneaker pack, Reebok continues their retro onslaught with some Shawn Kemp specials and the ever important AI models, and Vans blends with constant collaborator Taka Hayashi. Did we mention we’re giving away some exclusive Madden ’13 sneakers? Get a look at all these major headlines and more right after the jump in this edition of the Sneaker News Weekly Rewind.
