2014 promises a ton of Air Jordan 6 releases, like the “Championship Cigar” joints that celebrate MJ’s first title. A ton of Kobe 9 Elites are on the way, while the LeBron 11 EXT popped its head out for the first time. KD continues to run the league with the KD 6, and this week brought release dates for the upcoming Aunt Pearl joints! A first look at the Nike Lil’ Penny Posite surfaced, while the Nike “Urban Jungle Gym” Pack promises to bring back some legendary 90s releases. The Diamond Supply Co x Nike SB Dunk High promises to be a big release next week, while a first look at the all-new Nike Hyperfeel Trainer adds another Flyknit model to the growing collection.

Stash has a bunch of Reeboks coming out in 2014, while adidas continues to tell the story of Kareem. Asics has a ton of great releases coming in February like the duet of Valentines Day joints, while New Balance teamed up with J.Crew for one of the cleanest 998s yet. Vans and The Beatles came together for a nice set of releases commemorating the Yellow Submarine. Custom kicks were awesome with Jordans, LeBrons, and adidas Kobes being represented, while a look at 2 Air Jordan PE/Samples provided another look at what “could’ve” been. Best of #SneakerNews continued with a focus on Trainers, while #SNselect brought exclusive stories on a Packer collab. Ready for 2014? This week was jam-packed with new releases, so let’s get this rewind going. In the Air Jordan category, we caught a first look at the Air Jordan 3 “Infrared 23″ and the Air Jordan 5Lab3 while getting detailed previews of the “Infrared Cement” Air Jordan 2″. Yeezy Foamposites are a real thing, so get prepared for that as well. The BHM KD 6 was a crowd-pleaser, as was the Kobe 9 NSW Lifestyle in the YOTH colorway. Nike unveiled gear for Super Bowl XLVIII, which included the Lunar Trainer 180 SC and more. A collab with Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci is happening soon, the Janoskis and Kostons with Max Air and Free soles are hitting stores, and the sequel to the Lunar Flyknit is going down this February.

Reebok is coming through with “Magic” colorways of the Kamikaze, while Glenn Robinson’s “The Rail” is making a return as well. adidas is coming correct with Retro releases like the Stan Smith and EQT Cushion, Saucony has two big collaborations on deck, and New Balance is bringing back on of its most comfy 900-level models in the 997. Agenda Trade Show was the place to be for fashion-forward individuals, and we were sure to capture some on-feet looks. Sneaker Con in Houston was without question the biggest event of the week, with thousands showing up to fill up Minute Maid Park. Happy New Year, Sneaker News readers! The fun doesn’t stop because in just a few short days, 2014 has proven to be an eventful one. This past week, we caught you up on Sneaker News SELECT and the Readers Choice Poll, but as we stated before, there’s so much more to look forward to like the LeBron 11 “Black History Month”, the Air Jordan 6 “Infrared 23″, and the KD 6 “Aunt Pearl”. While Kobe rehabs his knee, we got another look at the exciting Kobe 9 Elite “Masterpiece” while gearing up for the release of the Prelude V. Nike Sportswear introduced three renditions of the Air Max 90 – the ICE, Lunar, and Jacquard, while SB prepared for the debut of the One Shot in a slew of colorways.

NBA Feet was yet again an exciting category, with Melo rocking his new signature, LeBron whipping out yet another PE, and the rest of the NBA sneakerheads doing their thing. Macklemore owned the headlines when he threw his Red Yeezy 2 into the NYE crowds, although a group of Oregon Ducks doing the dougie in their AJVs was worth a look. Reebok officially unveiled the Kamikaze 1, while adidas showed us the Rose 4.5 in six great colorways. Jeremy Lin’s move from Nike to adidas obviously made less noise than Kanye’s move did, although Lin’s marketability still remains high on a global scale. To begin the year, we jotted down fourteen headlines and predictions for 2014, touching on a number of happenings that may very well go down this year. We’re closing out a week en route to one of the biggest sneaker dates of the year – the release of the annual Air Jordan 11. However, tomorrow’s Gamma Blue 11 drop isn’t all that’s worth talking about, because this week was stacked with headlines. Starting off, we saw a bundle of new Air Jordan Retros for 2014, while catching a first glimpse at a new Lifestyle Kobe 9 model. The KD 6 was a big topic with a first detailed look at the “Energy” colorway, as was the LeBron 11 thanks to the series of college PE issues. Supreme x Foamposite hit us late in the week, revealing two colorways in some unique styling that only the streetwear brand can do. Other NSW news included the Year of the Horse Pack, which included the Air Max 1, Lunar Force 1, and much more. The Nike SB Dunk High “Tiffany” looks like its happening for real, which has garnered a mixed response from our readers.

A Kanye West x adidas collaboration may come to life as soon as next September, while Palace Skateboards unveiled its Reebok Workout Low CVS to much praise. New Balance has plenty of great 2014 release to start the year off strong, but Asics is closing out on a high note thanks to Extra Butter’s third installment of the #DL5. Some dope Vans releases are on the way like the 8FIVE2 and Bows & Arrows collaborations, while next year’s Year of the Horse Pack kept us excited for what else can drop in 2014. We discussed some interesting topics like the history Nike Basketball’s Christmas releases and the past December Air Jordan 11 releases, but none had the chatter going like our Sneaker News 2013 Year End Rewind, which covered every major topic of the past year. We’re nearing the end of December, but the headlines keep rolling in! We got a first look at an Air Jordan 6 “Toro” colorway – one of several 2014 releases that we caught a glimpse of. Nike officially unveiled the 2013 Christmas Pack, with the KD, LeBron, and Kobe represented well. Another look at Oregon Foams caught readers by surprise, while a clean new colorway of the Flightposite Exposed coerced detractors to the altered classic. Jordan Brand officially unveiled Carmelo’s 10th signature shoe, which releases on the same day of the Melo 1.5 bringback (a shoe he’s been steadily balling in – more to see in NBA Feet).

Nike Sportswear has a leather version of its Sneakerboots set on the way, while a bunch of Nike SB Dunks began to hit stores. Acid Denim Wash is hitting the Air Force 1 Low and High. Kobe Retros are back – and we’re not talking the Prelude Pack; adidas is bringing back The KOBE later this month. Even more Ewing colorways are becoming available – the latest set being labeled the Euro Collection. Sneaker Freaker welcomed the Sharkbait edition of its Puma Blaze of Glory (it was originally a F&F drop back in ’08). Sneaker News Select finished off the year with three great stories including the second Packer Shoes x Kamikaze II, BAIT’s “Basics Program”, and a holiday-inspired adidas drop. How was everyone’s Thanksgiving Holiday so far? We hope you didn’t spend too much time away from the computer because there’s a lot of Sneaker News to catch up on. Perhaps the biggest headline of the year rose up, with Kanye West officially stating his departure from Nike, joining forces with adidas. In Jordan news. a first look at a Grey/Red Air Jordan 2 Retro came to light. Nike Basketball had a ton of headlines to choose from, like a new Soldier model, a second iteration of the KD Trey 5, new Hyperposites, and the Hyperdunk 2014. The BHM SB Dunk Low was revealed in full, while some release dates for key NSW releases like the Zoom Flight Glove and Air Force 1 Asteroid were made known.

Ronnie Fieg unveiled and released the Daytona project, while BAIT hinted at an upcoming Asics GL3 collab. adidas has another OG Mutombo on the way, while Reebok celebrated another collaboration with UK-based skate brand Palace. Another Knicks-based colorway of the Ewing 33 Hi is on the way, while Vans and Stussy have something in the works. Was this past week in sneakers the most eventful of the year? While nothing went down for certain, rumors of Kanye West leaving for adidas ruled the sneaker headlines this week. But Sneaker News was business as usual, bringing you the most up-to-date news on all your favorite categories. The Air Jordan 12 “Gamma Blue” got a confirmed release date, a first look at the Kobe 9 got revealed, LeBron showed off a sick “Floral” PE, and KD revealed his favorite childhood cartoon. Fellow Nike athlete Calvin Johnson got some due props with the Megatron Rises Pack, while Penny Hardaway came back into the limelight with an Air Force 1 Low. Year of the Horse is a slowly but surely buzzing topic thanks to the Flightposite Exposed model, while Retro runners continue to dominate with the re-release of two OG Air 180s.

adidas Originals unveils the Luxury Pack, taking animal-inspired materials to another level, while Ronnie Fieg reveals a release date for his upcoming New Balance 1600 creation. Reebok detailed a complete Iverson sig-shoe history, while another upcoming collab with Stash had sneakerheads buzzing. Vans teamed up with Pendleton for a dope set of classics, while fellow skate label Nike SB joined forces with outdoor brand Poler for two great collabs. Customs were a huge hit again, while some dope Jordan PEs had us pondering more colorway possibilities for the future.
