The traveling sneaker x hip-hop showcase known as Sneaker Pimps heads to New York in just a few days, with special guest Meek Mill providing some live entertainment. Making this event extra-special is this Sneaker Pimps x Nike Air Max Hyperposite ‘Statue of Liberty’, featuring a Sneaker Pimps logo on the tongue and a glow-in-the-dark midsole. These Friends & Family joints are limited to just sixty pairs – all individually number via a label on the inner face of the tongue. One of these sixty pairs will be auctioned off at this Tuesday night’s event, with all proceeds going directly to the relief effort for the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. The Sneaker Pimps tour just touched down in the sneakerhead capital of the world; pretty obvious this was destined to be a solid event, innit? The latest iteration of this roaming kicks culture circus rocked Irving Plaza and several of the city’s luminary sneakerheads were on hand. Street artist and collabo-OG Stash was in the building putting some of his handiwork up on a pristine wall, while rappers like Stalley, Kendrick Lamar and Jim Jones handled the mic and kept the room moving. Hey NYers, what’cha up to tomorrow? Oh wait, there’s Sneaker Pimps NYC! It’s opening its doors to sneakerheads of all ages, so be at the doors of the famed Irving Plaza in Union Square at 8PM. Live performances by Maybach Music Group’s Stalley and Compton-native Kendrick Lamar will set the tone for this sick event, which will also feature a collection showcase from ATF Crew’s own Mayor and an art installation by Stash. Still going strong in its year-long tour, Sneaker Pimps will now make a stop at one of the largest sneaker epicenters in the world – New York City. This November 11th, immerse yourself in NYC sneaker culture at Sneaker Pimps, which will feature live performances by Kendrick Lamar, Stalley, and a third headlining guest artist. Additional features include an art installation by Brooklyn’s own Stash as well as a dope photography exhibit by Kicks Japan. The Sneaker Pimps traveling tour continued this past weekend, stopping at one of the most historic cities in the entire nation. Philadelphia was home to this latest Sneaker Pimps event, which featured a live performance by Kendrick Lamar, the latest signee of Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment label. Aside from the live music, Sneaker Pimps Philly featured a number of sneaker vendors and showcases for buy/sell/trade purposes. Where will Sneaker Pimps stop next? The nation’s capitol was home to not one, but two great sneaker events in 2011 as Sneaker Con started things off by blowing the roof off with its weekend-long event, followed by Sneaker Pimps latest stop of its 2011 tour. It was another great showing of kicks and hip-hop performances, as Bun B and Stalley provided live music for the event-goers, who attended the event to swap kicks and admire some of best collections in the world. Sneaker Pimps just hit the halfway point of its 2011 United States tour, and first up after the ‘all-star break’ is a trip to the nation’s capital. Washington DC is a footwear hotbed sufficiently geeked on sneakers that Sneaker Con held two events there already in ’11, and Sneaker Pimps will arrive at the Ibiza nightclub in less than two weeks. A live performance by Bun B and background tunes from DJ Lil Mic should get the crowd going, but you know it’s the buy/sell/trade action that really gets sneakerheads’ blood boiling.
