In 2009, Nike SB created an unexpected classic in the Zoom Stefan Janoski. With immense cross-over appeal (not to mention that skaters actually liked the shoe), the Janoski rose to the top of the Nike SB ranks and became a must-have shoe for all types of sneakerheads. Seamlessly combining classic styling and sleek design, the SB Janoski was one of the best shoes of 2009 (it was a Sneaker News Top 30 of that year) and continues to be a hit in 2011. In addition to the new colorways headed our way, Nike SB introduced a mid-top chukka-esque version of the Janoski, which features a heightened and padded ankle collar. For Fall 2011, we can expect a number of new colorways of both the Low and Mid; for the original design, a maroon suede as well as an off-white cream suede colorway will drop, and for Mids, a classic black/white colorway and a second light green/brown version will make its way to store shelves. Stefan Janoski’s pro model with Nike SB has been one of Nike SB’s most successful and popular shoes both for skate use and for lifestyle purposes. To expand on the Janoski would be a prudent move, and with a mid-top already in the works, Nike SB reintroduces the Zoom Stefan Janoski in Fall 2011 with a minor alteration. The rear portion of the shoe features an added string applique seen in typical boat-shoe construction, so while it may not have much an effect on the performance of the shoe, it certainly adds to the cosmetic appeal. Take another look below and stick with Sneaker News for more Nike SB updates in 2011. via N-SB.

“Cory Kennedy lives such a good life. Best sponsors, Cali, nice apartment, can do anything he wants on a board . . . “
YouTube comments are typically worth far less than the screen space they’re temporarily displayed on, but there’s a reason this one has more thumbs up than any other on Nike SB pro Cory Kennedy’s recent ‘Slice of Life’ video. The Crailtap-shot spot shows CK cleaning up around the house, playing a bit of NBA2K11, skating thru traffic while picking up and carrying a shovel and broom, stopping off to gnosh on the half-sandwich-half-salad combo, shoveling off a spot of oceanfront pavement . . . and then the skating starts. There’s probably not much that could top that, but how about the new Cory Kennedy x Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski Low. This Q3 release is the first Janoski collabo colorway and one that plays a prominent role in the video. Click through to see the shoe, the video and let us know how these compare to Janoski’s Janoskis. via N-SB
