Supra is known for some of the more curious nicknames in the sneaker world. With a name like ‘Jefferson Pack’, there’s room for interpretation. Could the flamboyant style on these new Supra Skytops and Skytop IIIs have been inspired by the immortal Sherman Hemsley’s George Jefferson, or maybe they reflect the freedom to pursue happiness to which the third US president is intimately linked. Both great men, but neither seems probable, the likely intent of the ‘Jefferson’ Skytop duo the kind of jaw-dropping reaction you’ll command upon copping a pair straight from Supra.

Solebox’s sneaker collaborations are often hard to come by thanks to super-limited numbers. Their most recent team effort resulted in only fifty pairs, and those Supra Owens were all gifted to store staff. Regular Sneaker News readers would have recognized a similarity in the colorway in use on those and the Solebox x Supra Skytop III, a model that had been off the radar since its teaser back in August. These Skytop IIIs are now ready for retail, a January 19th release that’s stylish in grey suede with green accents, and carries the store’s luminescent torch by incorporating some glow in the dark mojo to round out the look. Are these the best Skytop IIIs you’ve seen? Let us know after checking out more shots below and stick with Sneaker News for word on a possible US release.

The latest release from Supra has an abstract nickname like plenty they’ve released before, only this one happens to have a moniker that refers to a legend without whom maybe this entire company wouldn’t even exist. No single skater played a bigger role in crossing over from the golden era and ’90s ‘extreme’ breakout to the massive skate-industrial complex we know today, than one Anthony Frank Hawk. Tony Hawk is the Michael Jordan of vert skating, a name so recognizable that despite the lack of any apparent connection, it’s tough to see a skate shoe named Supra Skytop III ‘Hawk’ and not think of the guy. There’s even a little MJ in there thanks to Chad Muska’s third Supra sigs rocking an ‘Olive’-ish palette, and they’re available now from the Crown brand’s e-store.

Supra has never been shy about borrowing colorways from the Air Jordan Legacy (or entire silhouettes, in the case of Erik Ellington’s sigs), and today we have a look at a new Chad Muska pro model in those familiar Chicago Bulls colors. The Supra Skytop III appears ready for the NBA season to come in this black oiled leather ensemble, a style that subtly adds red to the middle eyelets and tongue backing so that an outsole in the same shade really pops. You’ll see more angles when you click the jump below, then treat yourself to a pair straight from Supra.

Angel Cabada’s Kr3w clothing line set the stage for Supra to come onto the scene, but don’t make the mistake of skimming over this and seeing the above pictured style as a sort of in-house collabo. Brought to market by Black Rainbow Paris, the latest Skytop III not only reaches outside One Distribution for design cues, but also radically alters the third Chad Muska signature‘s presentation. Accordingly, the BKRW x Supra Skytop III is the most luxurious pair to date, replacing the Presto-like lace cage with the same premium leather that covers the rest of the upper, along with pony fur and ostrich skin. The latest luxury sneaker collaboration proves that even techy styles can afford a grown and sexy look, and the newest from Supra will be available at Black Rainbow this Friday, September 29th.

Though they only released photos depicting the rear half of the shoe, we have a pretty good feel for what to expect from Berlin boutique Solebox’s latest collaborative design. We already know that anything Hikmet Sugoer’s store touches hits the streets in extremely limited numbers, and while we wait to see if the drop even tops triple digits, these shots of the Solebox x Supra Skytop III showing off a nappy grey suede upper, translucent TPU elements and green accent hits are sure to have Crown brand fans eager with anticipation. Check out more below, let us know where this relatively simple design ranks against the collected output from a store known for their crazy themes and lite-up designs and stick with Sneaker News for release info.

Reebok recently previewed a dope rain camouflage pack for the Shawn Kemp signature Kamikaze II in reference to the Seattle Supersonics star’s dunking-all-over-your-head nickname. Is this new Supra Skytop III ’Reign’, then, some kind of veiled reference to Michael Jordan’s first retirement? On one hand, the Air Jordan VIII ‘Aqua’ connections are self-evident, and maybe if we get loose with the nickname, we can see Kemp and the Sonics in the ’96 Finals on the other side. Then again, Supra has used a variety of Aqua/Grape-ish colorways from the early days, so perhaps ‘Reign’ is a tip of the cap to the GOAT and most influential man in the history of sneakers. In any case, the black waxed suede design is a can’t-miss with teal and purple accents, and they’re available now straight from Supra.
