Since its launch in 2006, it’s been apparent that Supra’s design crew were heavily influenced by Nike and Air Jordans in particular. It started innocently enough with the Air Jordan IV-like Cruizer and a host of Bulls, Grape and Aqua colorways and then went up a notch when the Skytop II released with an undeniable AJ6 tongue. Even that can be seen as an homage to Jordans as the new standar in modern footwear, but poaching a guy from the Swoosh roster and releasing a shoe for a sport he may have never even tried? That’s starting to sound personal. Check out the Supra Society Mid ‘Deion Sanders Pack’, a reminder that upon his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Prime Time is not signed with the label that helped make him a household name, but rather, a burgeoning skate brand. Will Supra eventually tackle other sports outside skateboarding? That remains to be seen, but while we wait for the future to see how that plays out, the Society Mid ‘Deion Sanders’ is available in Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers colorways from Supra.

Supra has been such a high proportion of packs to unnamed releases of late that it’s probably another line entirely, but is it also possible that Supra renamed their spring-launched Royal collection already? The Supra Estate collection for fall offers a similarly regal take on three of the crown brand’s biggest hits, but unlike many of their other looks this summer, each of this trio carries its own colorway. Start with the Supra Skytop ‘MIA’, a black full grain leather model with South Beach-style accents, then move to the insane Society Mid in black TUF with a white grid overlay and finish out the set with a red canvas Cuttler that’s reminiscent of their ‘Heartbreaker’ Skytops from a while back. Supra has been on a tear with their color-themed packs of late, and while this new trio of drops from the Crown brand is similarly unified, they take on a different identity thanks to a new kind of theme. The Supra ‘Old School’ pack is comprised of a Society Mid, a Bullet and an Amigo, all done in navy blue suede and canvas held together with white contrast stitching. At this point in history, the colorway seems to call out to Derek Jeter and there’s even a reference to a posthumous monument in Supra’s blog writeup, but Jeter’s a Jordan man and perhaps this keeps the references oblique at best. But in the sense that the old school represents things tried and true, these are a solid representation and are available now at select Supra retailers including their own e-store.

Another day, another ‘color’ pack from Supra. The crown brand started this trend when a series of holiday-themed releases led to the equally well-timed ‘Black & Yellow’ collection in honor of the Boston Bruins’ Stanley Cup victory. That pack begat the ‘Black & Green’ joints we most recently showed you, and now three other models are united by a single colorway. The Supra Taupe Pack applies its namesake shade to the suede uppers of the Supra Skylow, Society Mid and Cuban, each of which adds an aqua terrycloth lining and white vulcanized sole. Is Kid Cudi ‘ghostwriting’ sneaker designs these days? We’ve seen crazier things than The Man in the Moon designing a couple of ‘Day and Night’ two-packs, but in actuality it was Highs and Lows who did New Balance’s ‘Night and Day’ pack, and the crown brand themselves who came up with the Supra Society Mid ‘Summer Solstice Pack’. This set of night and day Society colorways delivers dark and bright blue takes, respectively, on Terry Kennedy’s secondary signature model. A 413-pair limited run will release with special hangtags on Saturday, June 18th and you can click on the jump below to see more images plus a list of retailers who will carry the Supra Summer Solstice Pack.
