It should come as no surprise that while you’re patiently waiting for the debut of the ‘Reignman Camo’ pack for the Reebok Kamikaze II Swizz Beatz already has his pair. reebok classics press conference project lv 1 Reebok Classics Press Conference @ Project LV

You remember that shot from yesterday showing off some of the heat Reebok was touting at the current Project tradeshow in Las Vegas? Well after they let their sneakers do the talking they brought out of the biggest names representing the brand at the moment to do a bit of that as well. The group gathered in front at the Reebok event was a convergence of huge figures in both music and sports, with Swizz Beatz playing host to the likes of Tyga, Rick Ross, Allen Iverson, and the OG himself Dominique Wilkins. And while the dudes did their talking that might have fallen on a fair number of deaf ears, with many in the room focused on the various wears that included the Reebok Kamikaze II, the Reebok Question, and the Reebok Pump Twilight Zone. Click through with us to check out the shots from the Reebok Classics press conference and stick with us for more updates from the Reebok booth at project.

Swizz Beatz x Reebok “Time to Show” Zip Boot

July 13th, 2012 by | 3 comments

reebok time to show swizz beatz 4 Swizz Beatz x Reebok Time to Show Zip Boot

Swizz Beatz can do it all. He’s produced some of the hottest hip-hop beats of the last decade, teaches a course at NYU, and even direct the once-stagnant Reebok into a topic of daily discussion in sneaker circles with his sneaker designs (both outrageous and refined, like this ‘Time to Show’ high-top zip boot). It’s got a high boot-like build with an oversized tongue donning a pressed-leather Reebok logo with Zipper construct at the midfoot to give the ankle some flexibility. The black leather and brass detailing gives the shoe almost a biker-boot look, but Swizz intends these to be a neckbreaker on the street with the ‘Time to Show’ moniker. Euro retailers have these in stock now, so be on the lookout if you’re looking to diversify your lifestyle rotation. Photos: eukicks

Swizz Beatz continues to make all the right moves for Reebok as he hit the ESPY red carpet yesterday wearing the Reebok Pump Twilight Zone “Snakes”, but he wasn’t alone as the once-proclaimed ‘Nike-head’ Nas wore a similar Black colorway. Both Swizz Beatz and Nas (natives of New York City), performed live at the ESPY Award Show, but rocked their ‘Boks up until their wardrobe change. We’ve got a good look at both colorways on the feet of these notable hip-hop sneakerheads, so take a look and let us know which of the two colorways is better, and we’ll keep you updated on a potential release date for these sick new T-Zones! Sneaker News already confirmed the re-release of the Reebok Twilight Zones, but the brand’s lifestyle frontman Swizz Beatz is going the extra mile by rocking some sick new joints tonight at the ESPY Awards. Dubbed the ‘Snakes’, this Twilight Zone features a tonal upper featuring the slithery material around the entire build of the shoe, with a metallic silver detailing on the upper. Pair with it the white midsole and hint of red on the outsole and you’ve got one of the fiercest Reeboks we’ve seen since Swizz took the helm. Another shot of this sick new ‘Bok below, so take a look and we’ll keep you updated with potential release info.

Imagine if Nike Sportswear hadn’t issued hardly any of its 1990s classics, then suddenly, BAM! — a torrent of Jordans, Air Maxes and signatures that’d leave longsuffering sneakerheads in tears.  That’s kind of like what’s going on right now under Swizz Beatz‘ supervision at Reebok, as the Vector brand is finally bringing back some of its most memorable silos of the past two decades.  It started last year with the Shawn Kemp-inspired Kamikaze III, a descendent of the Reebok Kamikaze II that’s now getting a proper retro treatment along with a couple of Allen Iverson’s signatures.  AI’s ‘Pearlized Red’ Question is on display with the OG blue colorup soon to follow, which will be joined by the Answer IV in one of that model’s many (many) first run styles.  And on the running/training side of things, we’re about to be blessed with Emmitt Smith’s EM22 and the original DMX Run (suggesting a future release for it’s DMX-debuting counterpart, the Answer I?).  Have a peek at Reebok’s upcoming Retro Sport collection after the jump, let us know which of these classics you’re most excited to own and if there’s another RBK model you’d like to see return (Swizz promises “Shaqs also” soon), and be sure to stick with Sneaker News for release info.
