Footwear brands have embarked upon and emphatic push to re-live the 1990′s era of footwear, and if it’s going to be done, it has to be done right. News of the return of two memorable Reebok Shaq models in 2013 was one of the more exciting headlines of the week, but the day before, we laid our eyes on a Reebok Shaqnosis inspired revamp loosely dubbed the Reebok Shaqnosis 2012; industry sources soon confirmed that those samples were scrapped for now, but today we get a detailed look at two would-be colorways of the Shaqnosis – one in the OG-inspired White/Black and another in Black/Royal. More angles below, so take a look and let us know what you think. Photos: SneakerFreaker

It seems like Nike/Jordan is dominating the game with its sick onslaught of releases (2012 All-Star, Air Yeezy 2, OG Air Jordans, shall we go on), but it really is an open field of opportunity for other brands right now. Reebok is definitely taking the initiative to make their way back into the limelight, although yesterday’s news of the a retooled Shaqnosis named the Reebok Shaqnosis 2012 coerced lurkers to chime in with their thoughts – and it certainly wasn’t smiles all around. However, this latest update with reverse those frowns as Swizz Beatz, Reebok’s frontman for lifestyle footwear, hints at a return of the original Reebok Shaqnosis as well as the Reebok Shaq Attaq – proving that the brand is ready to bring out its most memorable classics from the 90′s in original form, while still giving them a contemporary spin on the side, althoughit has been confirmed that the Shaqnosis 2012 revamp sample will not release. Your thoughts on the return of the Reebok Shaq signature line? Let us know what you think in the comments below and we’ll keep you updated with this exciting development.
Update: It has been confirmed that the Reebok Shaq will return in 2013. Stay tuned to Sneaker News for more updates!

The Reebok campaign continues and it certainly got a lot stronger with the support of Allen Iverson, Reebok’s longest-tenured basketball athlete endorsee in history. As you know, Iverson has a life-time contract with Reebok, and clearly he’s aware of the Reebok Back movement as he made a cameo appearance in Swizz Beatz’ latest music video ‘Street Knock’ (available for viewing just below). Both ‘The Answer’ and Swizz rocked the Reebok Question, with Swizz wearing them around his neck while spitting his tunes while Iverson wore ‘em while displaying his legendary handles. Swizz also wore the Questions during a recent taping of BET’s 106 & Park. More on this sick Celebrity Feet sighting below, so take a look and let us know how excited you are about the Questions hitting stores once again!

Swizz Beatz just tweeted a photo of an upcoming leopard print Ex-O-Fit Hi, but is it possible that a new design of his own creation might be even wilder? Those last few words we use lightly, because Swizzy owes quite a bit to the Reebok archives for this as yet unnamed sample hightop. These reach further back than the Kamikazes that cemented Swizz’ partnership with RBK, instead opting for a late ’80s/early ’90s look that vaguely touches on models like the Pump Omni Lite and Zone without directly copying any of their signature elements. Click through to see more and let us know if you’d grab these, whatever their name should turn out to be.

We haven’t seen any new Reebok Ex-o-Fits released since last year’s vintage collection brought back a couple of its foundational styles, but here’s a new pair with its own take on ‘timely’ design. Instead of saluting its roots, this new Ex-O-Fit Hi ‘Leopard’ seeks to blend with today’s biggest trends, its fuzzy spotted upper accented by two of the hottest elements of the whole spring: the black/white combo and a gum rubber outsole. So they’ve managed to perfectly echo the early 2012 zeitgeist, but is this new Ex-o-Fit now one of the best animal print sneakers we’ve seen? Let us know when you click through for more and stick with Sneaker News for release info on Swizz Beatz‘ latest RBK teaser.

If you can’t make bank off distributing other artists’ digital works, why not take a step back and utilize their signature styles for a physical product? Of course, that’s not exactly it went down for Swizz Beatz with MegaUpload, but there is indeed a connection between the DOJ’s post-SOPA takedowns and the Reebok Affili’art Collection. It wasn’t even a week ago that Neil Young was quoted as equating internet distribution with radio, and that kind of broader access to art is exactly what the Jean-Michel Basquiat x Reebok Pump Omni Lite and the rest of the posthumous collabo do for The Radiant Child’s notable works. There are two Omnis (three including the ‘Undiscovered Genius’ joints we showed you last week), one Top Down and a new Freestyle for ladies that make up the spring/summer 2012 set, and you can see all of them in more images after the jump before you grab them from select RBK retailers. via Provider

Swizz Beatz has put Reebok back on the map for good, and during this week’s Project Trade Show in Las Vegas, Swizz made Reebok one of the biggest highlights of the three day-long event. Swizz, wearing a tonal-red colorway of the Reebok Classics Ex-O Fit High, performed live for over 500 special guests, and his pal Chris Brown also showed up to provide a live rendition of ‘Dance Like A White Girl’ while wearing the new Reebok Kamikaze. Other notable guests included Funkmaster Flex, who DJed the event, and America’s Best Dance Crew. We saw one studded, strapped-up hightop sample back in July but aside from that teaser, to this point, Swizz Beatz’ collaboration with Reebok has focused almost entirely on the resurrected Kamikaze model. Swizzy’s latest is far less familiar, yet equally fitting for the time: a black leather design with studs radiating along the heel, and they call it the Swizz Beatz x Reebok Time to Show Court. One of the wordier names in recent memory, but these speak volumes along those ‘thousand word’ lines, so click through to get a better look at one of the wildest hightops this side of Jeremy Scott and stick with Sneaker News for updates on these and all Reebok x Swizz Beatz release dates. via Numelo
