The New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ was filled to the brim with today’s hottest and most relevant hip-hop celebrities, who performed at the annual HOT 97 concert event. All the headlining names brought out some sick heat, like Wale’s Nike Air Foamposite Pro ‘Retro’ and Nike Air Max LeBron VII ‘HWC’ PE, Fabolous’ Air Jordan III ‘Flip’, Wiz Khalifa’s Air Jordan VI Infrared, and many, many more. Swizz Beatz showed up wearing a new White/Red/Black colorway of his Reebok Kamikaze, but it was also interesting to note that Rick Ross, who has been consistent with his Nike/Jordan game, wore a pair of the Kamikazes as well. There were plenty of other great sneaker sightings, like the Air Jordan IV ‘Laser’ and ‘Cool Grey’, the Air Jordan III ‘True Blue’, and Air Jordan 1 ‘BMP’, so take a nice look at all the celebs from the HOT 97 Summer Jam 2011 and let us know who rocked the best kicks!

On the heels of the successful release of the limited edition Swizz Beatz x Reebok Kamikaze 2011 this past Friday, Reebok’s future in the lifestyle genre looks rather promising. Sneaker News already showed you an all-new high-top model with two in-step straps studded with square rivets, which gave you a nice hint about what to expect from the Swizz x Reebok partnership, so here’s a look at a few more samples. The most notable of these samples is the red/silver/white pair, which is clearly inspired by another Reebok Basketball classic – the Reebok Blast. The Midsole features visible Hexalite a la the Question Mid and a flashy upper design using a number of different materials like a metallic-finished mesh, patent leather, and flat leather. Another interesting pair is Black/Gold mid-top which features a luxurious in-step strap that spans the entire forefoot. In addition to the new models is a new colorway of the Reebok Kamikaze 2011. Check out the samples below and let us know which of these samples you like best. via TSG.

That Swizz Beatz’ production and recording career has proven to be nearly doubly as long as Shawn Kemp’s career peak goes to show how much has changed since the latter was dunking at the 1995 NBA All-Star Game in the original Reebok Kamikaze. But rappers can move sneakers just as well if not better than basketball players these days and the inclusion of this nod to a mid-90s classic earns Swizzy’s collabo with RBK some extra street cred. The Reebok Kamikaze 2011 was designed by Swizz Beatz and will see its first colorway hit retailers this Friday the 13th in a super-limited run, but after that the general public can get its fair share of Hexalite cushioning when these black/red and grey/teal colorways hit retailers later this summer. Click through to see more of both and stick with Sneaker News for word on the US release dates. via Eastbay

Reebok is ready to take its lifestyle footwear label to the next level with the much-anticipated release of the Swizz Beatz x Reebok Kamikaze, a remastered version of the heralded Reebok design from the 90′s, now given a contemporary twist. We first learned of the partnership between Reebok and the hip-hop mega-producer late last year and after an official announcement and debut in mid-February, Reebok is ready to lay down a hit collabo with the limited release of the Grey/Red colorway of the Swizz Beatz x Reebok Kamikaze. Just eighty-four pairs of this version will release tomorrow, May 13th, with each pair being accompanied with an individually numbered hangtag autographed by Swizz Beatz himself. We’ve been teased aplenty with sneak previews at upcoming colorways like the ‘Black and Yellow’ and ‘Grape Juice,’ as well as the ‘Name These Kicks‘ contest that went live at the end of January, but now its finally time to try to get your hands on a pair. Sneaker News already brought you a list of stores that will have these available (listed again after the jump), but if you’ll be in the NYC area tomorrow, hit up Harlem NYC on 125th St. for a special release event and a Reebok footwear showcase.

Aside from “Chillin’, chillin’, chillin’,” hip-hop producer Swizz Beatz has been busy working on his collaboration with Reebok. Sneaker News just showed you some sample images of Swizzy’s upcoming designs and now we have release info to share on the original tag team effort. The Swizz Beatz x Reebok Kamikaze will see a super-limited release this Friday, May 13th when a mere 84 pairs will be distributed across seven select US retailers. Each one comes with a numbered hangtag personally signed by Swizz and though the $100 MSRP is pretty reasonable, less than a hundred pairs means the resale price could easily double that. Swizz Beats’ collaboration with Reebok has been detailed on Sneaker News since news of the partnership first broke out, but it looks like it’s more than a one-shoe deal. Check out these upcoming samples from the Swizz Beats x Reebok collection, which features a slimmer, more lifestyle-driven appeal, utilizing two different in-step straps with rock-star studs that may remind you of the Christian Louboutin spike-studded chukka-style sneakers. At least two colorways of this sneaker can be expected – one in red and another in a lux cream tone. So which of the two Swizz Beats x Reebok collaborations do you prefer? The aggressive, sporty Kamikaze, or this sleeker design suited for the nightlife? Check out an extra view after the jump and let us know what you think.
