Taka Hayashi’s curatorial role at Vans continues this summer with the release of the new “Suede Pack” of the TH Revere Hi LX. The design marries a couple disparate categories of sneakers, porting over the vintage suedes of older basketball models onto the Vans Sk8-Hi silhouette. From that the TH Rever Hi LX is born, a model that will be in stores for June of 2013 in two luxurious colorways of Black and Bossa Nova, retailing at $150 a pair. See both pairs right below and stay tuned for more exciting updates from the Vans Vault footwear capsule for the coming months.

Taka Hayashi’s latest twists on the Off the Wall legacy involves a couple of vulc soled standards applying a premium take on a familiar look. The Taka Hayashi x Vans Revere Hi and TH Cornice LX are the latest Vans to feature palm leaf prints, these Sk8-Hi and Chukka Boot variations looking comfortable with premium leather accents. The curious thing about this pack, and the reason it’s called ‘Palm Checker’ is because the medial answer to this leafy lateral print is the classic Vans checkerboard, which for whatever reason, has been omitted in both the Revere preview and these latest shots. We’d guess blue and white checks on the inner half but finding out for sure appears to be part of the fun of copping this latest Taka x Vans Vault drop scheduled for next month.

Taka Hayashi‘s work for Vans Vault tends toward the luxurious upper end of the market. His latest release is self-evidently premium from head to toe, or Lace to Toe, as the case may be. The Taka Hayashi x Vans Vault Lace to Toe LX is a lowtop inspired by classic paratrooper boots, constructed in a rich tumbled Horween leather that looks like one of those items you end up loving more and more as they add character with age. Finished with the Vibram Christy Morflex sole that combines vintage American rugged looks with lightweight anti-abrasion technology, the Lace to Toe pictured above will be joined by two additional colorways at select retailers next month, and is further depicted after the jump below.

Taka Hayashi’s latest work for Vans Vault is the epitome of his best: old school Off the Wall design language mixed up with some native flavor. The new Vans Vault TH Cornice LX is the latest Vans chukka silhouette, featuring moccasin toe construction and a patterned ankle collar reminiscent of the tribal look intimately connected with this capsule. Premium suedes and a bit of leather give these a classy look, but there’s still a double-stitched ollie area right above the classic Vans waffle sole if you have the occasion to shred. Check out Tortoise Shell and Puce colorways after the jump so you can decide which to grab at select retailers like The General.

Taka Hayashi is known to regularly switch things up, and here we have two new models and one significant transformation. Following up on two crepe-soled pairs about a year ago, the Taka Hayashi x Vans Vault Engineer Boot LX tightens up and switches to a Vibram sole. It’s accompanied by the Lace to Toe LX lowtop with the same comfy bottoms, and also connected to the vulc-soled moc-toe Cornice LX chukka. Stick with Sneaker News for that plus release info; these premium Horween Leather releases should be out at Vans Vault retailers shortly.

Taka Hayashi’s partnership with Vans Vault over the years has been typified by brand new designs or dramatic alterations to established favorites. The latest is indeed a fresh silo, but pulls no punches when it comes to celebrating Off the Wall’s rich legacy. The Taka Hayashi x Vans Vault TH Revere Hi LX reads like a remixed Sk8-Hi (a model that judging by earlier collaborations, Taka no doubt reveres), but a new heel and the fattest laces we’ve seen on a vulc-soled Vans release are obvious new additions. Balancing out the novelty is that iconic OG Palm Leaf print reissued last summer, and you can see more of this unique mix of old and new for spring 2013 after the jump.

Longtime Vans collaborator Taka Hayashi has a few new tricks up his sleeves for fall, the first of which is a unique twist on an established Off the Wall favorite. The Vans Vault Chukka LX TH applies the Japanese designer’s premium handcrafted feel to th familiar midtop Chukka Boot silhouette, adding (what looks to be) an asymmetrical leather mudguard and heel, while swapping out the iconic Waffle sole for a lower profile base like the ones he used on his own Akat. Monochromatic styles in black, brown and blue are available now at Vans Vault retailers, so click through for more and let us know which pair(s) you’ll pick up. via FNG
