With a reported June release still being the accepted time of release for the Tyler, The Creator x Vans Old Skool Collection, we can only sit and wait for these much-anticipated collaborations to hit stores . It’s Tyler yet again who leaks this latest image of the Old Skools, this time showing us the heel-shots for the black, beige, and red colorways as well as the cat-blasted insoles (although there is a blue colorway as well). Tyler the Creator of Odd Future fame now has even better reason to stay in Vans 24/7. The controversial rapper will have his own ‘Golf Wang’ branded version of the Vans Old Skool silhouette in four colorways coming in June. The pairs feature plenty of OFWGKTA details, from the all-over kitty print on the insole to the crude cat graphic stamped on the tongue tag. This is one of those collaborations that just had to happen sooner or later. Leader of the Odd Future collective Tyler the Creator’s star has apparently finally risen enough to garner the stamp of approval from the Vans team. Seen here is a preview of the upcoming project between the two, which sees Tyler‘s favorite Vans Syndicate Old Skool done in blue suede with some ‘Golf Wang’ detailing on the back end. Alternative hip-hop camp Odd Future has brought a welcome breath of fresh air and energy to the stale horizon of hip-hop music, led by the young and talented Tyler The Creator. Their shows have garnered attention from labels and music-publications worldwide, and for ample reason; their edgy lyrics and controversial videos have brought a different light onto hip-hop music, one that might be more good than bad for the genre right now. Tyler, Hodgy Beats, Domo Genesis, and Left Brain, four of the OFWGKTA crew, were spotted in London during their stay overseas, shopping at the BAPE Pirate Store. Domo Genesis was seen with the Air Jordan XI ‘Space Jam’, while the rest of the crew donned some simpler selections like their usual Vans and other lifestyle sneakers. Of course Tyler was wearing just one shoe, as he is still ailing from the foot injury – but his Supreme stickered crutches have kept him mobile.
