UNDERCOVER’s ‘Gyakusou’ capsule has become synonymous with Nike Running performance machines as colored in a distinct range of cool blues, warm berries and select additional shades. The unique palettes set these apart from just about all of the in-house releases, which means that while we’re quite familiar with the Nike LunarGlide+ 4 after over a year of steady service, these two new colorways are unlike any we’ve seen to date. Let us know how they compare to recent EXTs and other standout colorways after you’ve seen more below, and look for these at select retailers including 290SQM.

The Undercover for Nike Sportswear capsule known as “Gyakusou” extends its reach tomorrow as the Fall/Winter 2012 Collection of footwear and apparel hits select Nike Sportswear retailers. Our focus is on the footwear, which features the form-fitting Nike Free 3.0 V4 and the Nike Lunarspeed Lite+ both models approach that low-profile, skin-shell design that is the selling point of the Gyakusou collection, and with six can’t miss colorways to choose from (both Lunarspeed Lite+ and two Free 3.0s for men, the other two Free 3.0s for women), this season’s Gyakusou capsule is one of the best we’ve seen yet. A detailed gallery courtesy of SNS is just ahead, so take a look and don’t miss out.

It might be a tough name for English-speaking sneakerheads to wrap their heads around, but Jun Takahashi’s UNDERCOVER label is back with another ‘Gyakusou International Running Association’ collabo complete with a load of new gear and a few of the most progressively paletted colorways we’ve seen on a cutting edge performance runner. The UNDERCOVER x Nike Zoom Elite+ 5 brings three mens and a WMNS colorway to the table, with two of the new Lunarspeed Lites rounding out this latest GIRA-themed pack. The former looks a bit like a Free Run+ 2 with a cushion swap that reflects the Japanese market’s enduring love for Zoom-cushioned runners, while the latter perhaps most strongly resembles the LunarSpider+ series that Takahashi’s loved so well to this point. This spring collection brings a bunch of excitement with new silhouettes, enevelope-pushing colorways and the first Gyakusou drops for ladies, so have a closer look after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for updates including release info.

The phrase ‘Rebel Bear’ brings to mind debates over the University of Mississippi’s mascot for US sports fans, but it has a totally different connotation on the other side of the world. In Japan, where people wearing sporty clothes without the intention of competing or training are called ‘undercovers’, the Rebel Bear is a reminder of Jun Takahashi’s label and its recently released plush bear toy. TheUNDERCOVER x Nike Zoom Tennis Classic ‘Rebel Bear’ applies the teddy’s silhouette to the lateral heels of these old school lowtops, three different two-toned colorways adding embroidery in the same color as the accent shade appearing above on the heel tabs. Click through to look more closely at the white/red, grey/black and black/white releases and do what you can to connect with friends across the Pacific so you can get one of the pairs that drop on December 17th. via hfweb

Japanese streetwear label UNDERCOVER‘s recent collaborative history with Nike reads like a club sandwich with the sequence runner-runner-lifestyle shoe-runner. The latest layer adds another triple helping of casual style, the new UNDERCOVER x Nike Zoom Tennis Classic ‘Rebel Bear’ debuting the use of a new symbol on each shoe’s lateral heel. It’s designed after a plush toy Jun Takahashi’s label dropped not too long ago, itself insipred by some of the brand’s older t-shirt offerings, and appears on all three in each shoe’s respective accent color. Click through to see more of the white/red, black/grey and grey/navy pairs after the jump and expect these at select Nike Sportswear stockists Saturday after next, December 17th. via honeyee

UNDERCOVER’s head man Jun Takahashi is a serious running enthusiast whose athletic passions have spilled over into his recent collaborations with Nike Running. We’ve seen both the LunarSpider and Zoom Structure 14 done up in GIRA-inspired colorways, and now the latest iteration of the latter series will get the same treatment. The UNDERCOVER x Nike Zoom Structure+ 15 ‘Gyakusou’ is perhaps the most subued of all the running club-themed designs, their tonal grey construction gaining some warmth via deep red on the laces and rear midsole. The Zoom Structure series is more popular in Japan than here in the States by this point in history; will you grab a pair of Undercover’s ‘Gyakusou’ Zoom Structure 15s when they drop along with the rest of this capsule on October 15th? via HS
