Before Supra started nicknaming every trio of themed sneaker designs they released last summer, there was another massively popular skate brand that utilized this technique. In that way as well as the designs and colors being utilized, the Vans Classics ‘Two Tone’ Pack hearkens to the past, and there’s even the tiniest bit of Magic in these vaguely Orlando-like releases for this NBA All-Star month. But once you strip away all the unnecessary connections, you’re back to black and blue atop a white waffle sole, a look that’s replicated across the Vans Half Cab, Era and 106 Vulc. With over 45 years honing their craft, Vans has become synonymous with California cool, and their collection named after Paul Van Doren’s home state manages to condense that casual style into a series of releases that satisfy style requirements while adding in a bit of that unmistakable Off the Wall DNA. The Vans California spring 2012 collection has arrived at select retailers with hightlights including the Vans Sk8-Hi Boat that offers a different take on the traditional deck shoe as compared to the Chukka del Barco and its matching 106 Moc. A couple new Switchback boots, two Era 46s and a single Era Decon round out the group, so click through to see each and every pair, then look for them at select Vans stockists like Extra Butter.

It’s sufficiently similar to the Vans Chukka Low that many have confused the two, but you won’t be able to sleep on the 106 after you see these new releases. The Vans California 106 Moc takes the lowcut silhouette to a new level thanks to additions including the titular moccasin toe, off-colored ankle collar and a two-toned vulc sole. Both pairs add leather laces for that classic smart casual look, but it’s the rich nubuck uppers that cement their association with everyday luxury. Check out burgundy and grey pairs in greater detail after the jump and look for yours at a Vans supplier like Flatspot.

Digital age tastemakers Frank 151 have to this point been known more for shedding light on trends than playing a direct role in their creation, but this new collaboration with Vans opens up a new territory. The Frank 151 x Vans Vault 106 utilizes a classic Chicago Bulls ‘away’ colorup with a mix of leather and suede adding some depth of texture to the relatively simple design. It’s a fitting colorway given that these have just popped up at Chi-town’s St. Alfred, and you can click on the jump below to see more images.

It’s kinda like I & I Survived with this latest collection from Off the Wall, but despite the rastafied foxing band, this is not another collaborations with Bad Brains. But there’s little doubting the DC dreadheads would love this new Vans Classic Hemp Pack, a collection of classic silhouettes done with woven hemp uppers and the aforementioned tri-colored wraparound. Both the Authentic and 106 come with black woven hemp uppers (white and black soles, respectively), while the Slip-On goes for a more traditional beige upper plus a delicious gum bottom.
