Vans California has gotten some good service out of the chukka-descendant 106 Vulcanized and the heel-tabbed Era 59, so why not combine their virtues into a single dope lowtop? That’s exactly what Off the Wall has done with the Vans California 159 CA, pairing the Era 59′s trademark understated embellishment with the 106 silo for a fresh new look this spring. We see today that joining the Forest Night edition we just showcased is a Dark Shadow tweed 159, and you can decide which you’ll get from select Vans stockists with the aid of more photos below.

Vans just released an eye-catching pack of triply-speckled Eras, but that doesn’t mean they can’t make a more subdued staticky look. Quite to the contrary, as we see the new Vans California 159 in a dark tweed with earthy flecks. Brass eyelets, a leather heel tab and gum toe bumper combine to create a cohesive look that’s unique while still ‘classy’ like much of Off the Wall’s recent output. Reprising a motif we’ve seen in each of the last three years, the Vans Classics Chambray Pack brings forth six new releases split between three classic silhouettes.
