Vans takes to the water with the new “Steelhead Collection” of OTW releases, a group that features silhouettes like the Alomar and the Ludlow outfitted with material selections that wouldn’t feel too out of place on deck during a boating expedition or submerged in water during a fishing trip. The Vans OTW Prelow is the most explicit with that connection, as the shoes get covered in fly fishing style graphics. Continue reading to get acquainted with these pairs and shop them now with Vans if you’re interested.

Vans OTW “Reptile Pack”

The Vans OTW collection is this time going Off the Wall and straight into the animal kingdom with the just released “Reptile Pack”. The name here doesn’t denote any animal skin used so they’re safe for the PETA crowd, just like the recent charity release ASPCA Vans with that cats and dogs print. Instead, the “reptile” seems to be a reference to the jungle style prints that show up for the lining of each of these sneakers. Continue reading to see two pairs of the Vans Alomar and one of the Vans Tesella in this new “Reptile Pack” and watch for all three of these right now directly from Vans.

Vans OTW Alomar “Geo Pack”

If the place that you live in is still in polar vortex mode, then the standard Vans low tops probably won’t cut it as far as winter wear. We’d say that the Vans OTW Alomar will do though thanks to the higher cut of the model and the extra padding that goes with it. Releasing for Spring 2014 is this quick set featuring the sneakers, which has them wearing a cool geometric pattern. What’s more, that pattern is even poured into the lining to keep the theme strong. Get with us after the break to get familiar with the results and then pick up a pair for yourself from Vans today.

There’s no denying that prints and patterns have had a commanding grasp over the sneaker industry in recent years, and for proof look no further than the recently announced Vans OTW “Tribes” Pack. Using their three most established models in the Alomar, Bedford, and Ludlow, the collection takes inspiration from 90′s street culture by infusing a tribal print into the lining of the midtop Bedford and Ludlow and features the coastal pattern on the Alomar. See more of the collection below and be on the look out for this release at Vans OTW retailers this July.

Vans OTW Collection Fall 2012 Preview

vans otw collection fall 2012 alomar ludlow1 Vans OTW Collection Fall 2012 Preview

For many, Vans is the very definition of California cool, so it’s come as no great surprise that their OTW Collection of skate-inspired lifestyle sneakers is thriving.  This preview of what’s to come in Q3 reveals a varied range of styles and one new design, all of which have a decidedly low-key feel.  Take for instance the cracked camouflage on the Vans OTW Alomar and Ludlow pictured above: it’s a relatively busy print, but earthy tones on these sleek silhouettes keeps things chill rather than militant.  Speaking of military-inspired fare, there’s a sharp new rendition of the Howell desert boot that evokes images of classic Clarks Originals releases with a tweed toe meeting rich brown leather on the rear.  This same look is darkened and applied to the Pritchard lowtop, which turns out to be the only established model to have two pairs in this preview.  The other model you’ll see twice in images after the jump is a brand new, as yet unnamed boot that allows for some interesting blocking possibilities.  Let us know which one’s best and stick with Sneaker News for updates on these fall releases.  via HS

Mr. Cartoon x Vans OTW Alomar

vans otw alomar mr cartoon summary Mr. Cartoon x Vans OTW Alomar

We were starting to wonder what’d become of him on Saturday when we looked at a collaboration between Reebok and Swedish tattoo parlor Salong Betong, so it’s particularly good timing to see Mr. Cartoon’s latest efforts come across the Sneaker News ticker today.  The LA-based ink god can trace a chunk of his mainstream popularity to the 2007 Vans x The Simpsons collection where he and several other street artists contributed their take on Matt Groening’s megahit series, but this new Vans OTW Alomar is all Mister Cartoon.  They come in a clean navy leather and nubuck combo that adds gold stitching and embroidery details plus a plaid sockliner, and Mr. Cartoon’s Vans Alomars will hit select retailers later this month.
