Vans Syndicate is back with another collection, this time with the formidable Korean shop Kasina for an interesting take on two classic skate silhouettes. Utilizing a premium aesthetic, the Vans Old Skool gets a black leather treatment as the base to contrast the bold choice of teal and tan accents while the Vans Authentic gets a graphic print atop the canvas upper. Quick, name a couple of the most significant trends in sneaker design so far in early 2012. Regular Sneaker News readers will be readily able to provide some insight on this topic, our chronicling of fairly huge numbers of simple/elegant black and/or white kicks and almost as many with animal prints early this year a clear indication of the kinds of looks the major brands expect you to want this season. And in the case of this new pack of Vans Syndicate lowtops, they’ve been designed by a couple of pro skaters at the top of their game; in other words, a couple of guys who’re in a perfect position to set street-level trends. The Jason Dill x Vans Authentic Pro ‘S’ puts it all out on the line with a silvery snakeskin upper that represents the counterpart to Anthony Van Engelen’s cheetah print Old Skool ’92 ‘S’. Last but not least is a dual effort on a black leather Sk8-Lo that represents a confluence of the forces detailed above; are those accordingly the best of this pack that’s now available at Premier?
