The Bedford is a key part of the Vans OTW collection and represents the middle ground between casual style and skate performance, but did you know it can surf as well? The Vans OTW Bedford proves it’s thorougly Cali-bred, as this latest collaboration with Paul Rodriguez’ Primitive not only rides a few waves, but also catches some sun and treats its ‘body’ to some pampering with a yoga class and some quality time with a masseuse. This ‘Blvd Denim’ Bedford is mostly black with a denim and suede mix adding tortoise letter, reversed denim and copper details for a premium finish. They’re slated to arrive this Saturday, September 1st exclusively in Encino and at the Primitive e-store, so click through to see more and get ready for this weekend’s world premier.

Lupe Fiasco is no stranger to sneaker collaborations, having dropped one of the 1Hund[RED] Chuck Taylors with Converse all the way back in 2008, moving on that same year to work with Greedy Genius before conceiving the mysterious ‘Fall of Rome’ Air Force 1 Lows with Nike Sportswear. But after that early ’09 revelation, Fiasco focused more on his music until images of his teamup with Vans OTW was revealed at Agenda last August. For about a year and a half now, the Vans OTW Collection has been satisfying shoppers with a unique blend of skate-inspired aesthetics and lifestyle-oriented casual comfort. The Vans OTW Bedford is arguably the most successful of the bunch, a midtop somewhere between the Half Cab and a strapless Mountain Edition that’s been released with each seasonal grouping and even in a couple of collaborations. The Bedford’s back for the winter months with two new suede editions, one in black and another split between grey and burgundy. Also offering a two-toned approach is the Ludlow lowtop in a downright stately mix of wool and vegetarian leather, and all three pairs are yours for the taking now from select Vans retailers including Michigan’s Premier.

That you see them anywhere fashionable young people are known to gather can be taken as a sign of Vans OTW Collection‘s success, the fact that the Holiday 2011 catalog includes three new silhouettes proof positive that Off the Wall is on a roll. No disrespect to the Alomar, Bedford, Pritchard and Woessner, and in fact, these are all dope designs, but they are also the established veterans of the set. So let’s examine the new silos, starting with the moc-toed Vans OTW Cobern. The overall shape and medial vents hint at Vans’ beloved boat shoe inspiration, but provide a new and interesting twist thanks to the absence of any overt docksider imitation. Also new for Q4 are the Oxford-styled Ludlow and chukka-derived Howell, and you can see images of each colorway from all seven models after the jump. via MK
