Jason Dill continues a period of heavy activity with Vans, making it three-for-three over the past few weeks with a new colorway for the last pair we showed you. This Jason Dill x Vans Syndicate Derby S takes a left turn from the animal print styling he shared with Anthony Van Engelen last summer, following up on last week’s black/white makeup with a new style in soft wheat suede. The all-white sole and corded laces indicate this is too ‘smart’ of a style to be one of a million Timbo tributes, but still manages to evoke traditional craftsmanship, as you’ll see in more photos below and at select Vans retailers like Concepts.

While Jason Dill’s Fucking Awesome branded Vans may or may not ever reach the public, the legendary skater has the opportunity to crank up retail stuff regardless for the Off the Wall brand thanks for his current status as a team rider. The Vans Derby is one model he’s had his hands on, one of the results being this clean black and white combination that pours in plenty of color between the lining and the outsole. Vans has been doing it for years, and now they finally came out and said as much. A brand best known for its plimsolls commits to the ‘other’ classic lowtop build as the Vans Syndicate Derby rolls out three low-key canvas and suede styles for the fall season. These flip where Off the Wall typically stitched their vamps (though we’ve seen more derbies in recent years), but stick with the immortal Waffle sole in case you need to skate in this dressier silhouette. These are in stores now, so have a closer look and let us know how they compare to all those Off the Wall oxfords we’ve come to know and love.
