In the two and a half years since the most recent Carhartt x Vans collabo kicks were first previewed, and in that period, we’ve seen the major brands dole out all manner of work boot and otherwise rugged designs. One such theme that’s become increasingly popular of late is camouflage, and with the popularity of print patterns still yet to hit its peak, this new Carhartt x Vans Old Skool is well placed to bring things full circle. A Rorschach of a four-color camo print meets up with Red Wing inspiration on the rich leather toe and eyestay, along with the Detroit brand’s familiar two-toned corded boot laces. Everything about this design speaks of time-tested Americana with a little extra aggression, so be sure to check back with Sneaker News for US release info.

The last pair of these to come out of Off the Wall’s Vault was Levi Maestro’s rainbow-soled collaboration, so what’s Vans going to do with the next round of premium Old Skool lowtops? The answer is simple. Now read that last sentence again, and you’ll have a clear understanding of the intent behind this new duo of Vans Vault Old Skool LX releases, two nubuck skate classics featuring white side panel stripes and soles, black waxed laces and foxing bands and a red footbed that only you’ll know about. These just arrived at top tier Vans stockists, and that of course includes their collaborative retail venture with DQM, The General.

Anyone with an eye on fashion knows that the Native American print look is pretty big right now, but the ongoing collection between Pendleton, Vans, and Nibwaakaawin is far from a quick cash in on the trend. The range keeps things close to Nibwaakaawin’s central goal of using the sport of skateboarding as a tool to galvanize the Native American youth, with %100 percent of proceeds from the sneaker sales going to their efforts. The latest capsule, shown here, is dropping in conjunction with the 2012 All Nations Skate Jam which is set to go down in Albuquerque next weekend. Stay with us after the jump for a better look at the silhouettes which include the Vans Slip-On, Vans Old Skool, and the Vans Sk8-Hi and let us know if you like this newest iteration of the Native look. via HS

Quick, name a couple of the most significant trends in sneaker design so far in early 2012. Regular Sneaker News readers will be readily able to provide some insight on this topic, our chronicling of fairly huge numbers of simple/elegant black and/or white kicks and almost as many with animal prints early this year a clear indication of the kinds of looks the major brands expect you to want this season. And in the case of this new pack of Vans Syndicate lowtops, they’ve been designed by a couple of pro skaters at the top of their game; in other words, a couple of guys who’re in a perfect position to set street-level trends. The Jason Dill x Vans Authentic Pro ‘S’ puts it all out on the line with a silvery snakeskin upper that represents the counterpart to Anthony Van Engelen’s cheetah print Old Skool ’92 ‘S’. Last but not least is a dual effort on a black leather Sk8-Lo that represents a confluence of the forces detailed above; are those accordingly the best of this pack that’s now available at Premier?

It was just about one year ago that Japanese streetwear OGs XLarge came through with a rainbow speckled Era to match a set of gear, and this latest collaboration with Vans might already have one of its items in your closet. This XLarge x Vans Old Skool comes with a ‘Tropical Camouflage’ pattern that’s something like combining a Hawaiian shirt with an intense early ’90s color scheme that might remind you of the Air Jordan VII ‘Bordeaux’. The time capsule palette and overall visual business might make the best general comparison to the classic Coogi sweaters, yet they look nothing like that either. A curious melange from some dudes who’ve been doing it longer than many sneakerheads have been alive, XLarge‘s latest Vans collabo will arrive in the Far East shortly.

Vans continues to honor the legends who helped to build not only their brand but the sport to which they’re so closely tied, this latest drop a follow-up to another March release just over one year ago. Jeff Grosso lends his personal touch to a couple of Core collection classics whose colorways are as simple as the capsule name would imply. The Vans Sk8-Mid and Old Skool ’92 Pro go for the black and white look we’ve seen so much this season, both pairs blending suede toes, heels and eyestays with canvas sides and leather stripes. It was late 2010 when venerable skateboarding magazine Thrasher debuted its own skate sneaker, a model that could be seen to borrow heavily from the Vans Half Cab. Then last spring, a new collaboration with mita sneakers and CLUCT produced a model that’s pretty much a Chukka Boot with ‘Thrasher’ on the heels instead of ‘Vans’. So while it’s not a given that the pillars of skate publishing will team up with the footwear brands they helped to advertise, there are still a couple other notable names left out there that could find a new partner. The Skateboarder Magazine x Vans Old Skool/Mid Skool pack picks the perfect model to reflect the long running mag’s heritage, and will release in canvas high and lowtop colorways along with a run of dual-branded clothing and gear later this year. Have a look at the preview from Bread & Butter Berlin and stick with Sneaker News for the release date. via Complex.

West Coast streetwear giants Undefeated have released several of their own collaborations with Vans, but most recently, the La Brea location hosted a launch for another Off the Wall tag team effort. It was last Saturday that the Levi Maestro x Vans Vault Old Skool touched down with considerable fanfare, and it seems the shoe’s greyscale upper has bled over into some of these recap images. Click through to get a sense for what went down, including a look at some food from Kogi that’s almost as colorful as the shoe’s rainbow soles, and be sure to stick with Sneaker News for updates on sneaker-centric events from all around the world. via Sneaker Freaker
