The Rapidweld technique from Vans is one that we’ve seen more often than not coming from their more modern leaning Vans LXVI category. Proving that they’re happy to extend the tech beyond those boundaries is the new “Rapidweld Pack” which concerns a couple of Vans Syndicate silhouettes. Outfitted with the treatment this time are the Vans Old Skool and the Vans Sk8-Hi, both of which maintain their OG shape if not their OG build. Get with us after the click to see each and keep in mind you can pick up the pair of them now from trusted skate retailer Premier.

stussy vans old skool preview Stussy x Vans Old Skool Preview

There aren’t too many sneaker companies out there who would turn down a collab project with the likes of Stussy, that grandfather brand of the streetwear scene. The latest label to have Shawn’s brainchild equip one of their silhouettes is Vans-a team up that makes particular sense given the West Coast heritage of the partners here. As far as we can tell there’s a Vans Old Skool on the way and it will be here in 2014 according to the tongue tag in place. Continue reading for a better look at what’s to come and check back in with us for updates on the project.

The Vans Old Skool has issued a high proportion of patterned colorways of late, with the L.E. Way and DEFCON drops over the past month and a ‘Floral Pack’ pair previewed for early next year.  In the middle came a simple design from Japanese BMX label 430, and that’s a style more closely connected to the in-house design pictured above.  This new Old Skool Leather dropping today comes in the deep navy Dress Blues shade, adding white accents and laces up top to match the classic Waffle sole.  Take a better look at this established favorite after the jump, then pick up a pair from shops like CNCPTS.

Vans has used considerable amounts of camouflage patterns over the past year and here we have perhaps the most authentic example to date.  Teaming up with Defcon Tactical Gear, the Vans Syndicate ‘Digi Camo Pack’ applies the cutting edge concealment look to a couple of kicks that trace their origins back to the 1970s.  The Vans Sk8-Hi Notchback features an AOR1-inspired digital desert pattern on a Warrior Suede upper, while the Old Skool uses an AOR2-like digital woodland pattern on ballistic mesh.  You can see some of the fine details in more photos below, then pick up one or both pairs today at select skate shops including Premier.

The Vans Syndicate team continues their 2013 streak with the release of this, a two sneaker set styled up by the likes of DEFCON. Included in the set are the Vans Old Skool and the Vans Sk8-Hi, each getting a separate digital camouflage pattern across their uppers. Not to mention there’s real deal military materials at play-the Old Skool for instance has got what’s being billed as fire-proof suede and a moisture combating Dri-Lex liner. See both of the pairs with us after the break and remember that Vans Syndicate spots are starting to stock them now.

Vans Old Skool – Black – Red

vans old skool black black Vans Old Skool Black Red

Will any other Vans Old Skool match the impact of Tyler, The Creator’s ‘Golf Wang’ pack in 2013?  It seems unlikely given how people gobbled up those gum soled designs, but if there’s one whose sheer mass appeal might eclipse those four, it could be this new black-bottomed edition.  And in fact, everything on these new Old Skools is black, save the heel tag that’s rendered on this particular pair in red with white script.  Have a look at this ‘blackout’ canvas pair in more photos below, then pick up a pair from Flatspot.
