Upon our first look at two ‘Surveyor Pack’ sneakers from Vans OTW, Sneaker News noted that maybe there should three to reflect the ubiquitous levels that stand as the telltale signs there’s some serious surveying going on. We got our wish on that as well as clarification for the theme, as the new Vans OTW Prelow joins the Alomar and Piercy in a Drilex-equipped pig suede trio inspired by the intrepid explorers of the American Southwest. In this context, the rich brown uppers and orange trail-style laces make you think more of rocky desert terrain than a jobsite, so have a closer look below and look for these at select Vans retailers before the end of the month.

The most popular OTW Collection silo for collaborative projects, the Alomar is ready for spring with four new in-house designs. The Vans OTW Alomar is presented in four super-simple colorways including one blackout design and three color/white pairings. All of them sport canvas uppers with leather heels while the black edition adds pig suede for a subtle variation, and you can see them all below. You’d figure with a name like this, we’d be seeing three different silhouettes. Because that’s what the average person thinks of when calling to mind a surveyor, right–a yellow tripod at the top of which rests a builder’s level. But this new ‘Surveyor Pack’ from Vans OTW instead imitates the earthy workwear you might see at a job site, the Vans OTW Alomar and Piercy midtops mixing brown suede with a similar color of cotton duck. These are scheduled for early next year and you can see both below; be sure to check back with Sneaker News for word on all the 2013 Vans releases.

The Vans OTW collection is inspired by Off the Wall’s rich legacy but leans more to the lifestyle side of things than hardcore skateboarding, so the OTW team of advocates is more of a mixed bag than your average team of skaters. The roster includes names like Lupe Fiasco, Mister Cartoon and Eric Elms, and the latest comes from a guy who’s more strongly associated with black leather than griptape. The Dimitri Coste x Vans OTW Alomar is a long time coming, the French motorcycle enthusiast having contributed to OTW for a good while now in the form of OffTheWall.TV segments. An extension of Dimitri’s ‘O.S.F.A.’ project promoting amateur racing, this motorcycle jacket inspired design will release at select retailers later this month and you can see its promo video in full below.

There’s some serious overlapping between the mindsets and populations of the sneakerhead and toy collecting subcultures, and Vans’ latest collaboration manages a playful crossover blending its own brand of cool with the kind of aesthetics that’ll send you back to childhood memories. Crafted by Garageworks founder Chris Kong, these new Vans OTW Alomars have a definite ’80s action sports influence with a checkerboard print on the soles of a bold red and blue pig suede/ballistic nylon build. They’re slated to arrive at select OTW stockists next month, so click through for more photos plus a short video and stick with Sneaker News for updates.

Vans has a variety of chukka offerings across their various collections and divisions, but only one of them rides a cupsole. A design somewhere in between Off the Wall’s Chukka Boot and a chic fashion-forward hightop like Android Homme’s newest Propulsion, the Vans OTW Alomar returns for the holiday season with four new colorways. A black-piped woolen style looks warm to the touch, the black military-inspired edition keeps things formal and precise and the above pictured brown suede edition might be the standout of the bunch thanks to its hiking-infused style. Let us know which one you like best after you’ve seen them all and be on the lookout at your local OTW retailer.

The Vans OTW collection continues to expand its collaborative purview, having just unveiled an upcoming release coauthored by Paul Rodriguez’ Primitive. The above pictured teamup reaches even further, bringing in the first Chinese OTW partner on this new Subcrew x Vans OTW Alomar. This tonal red design adds a hint of gold on the tongue to get that patriotic vibe going, but the real attention-grabber is the croc skin texture on the glossy side panels. A recent interview with Vans Asia Pacific Marketing Director, Jenn Kong and Subcrew’s Kobe shed some insight on what’s to come, and you can see more of their design after the jump below. via HB

The Vans OTW Collection has brought us a nice variety of skate-inspired casual sneakers since its inception a couple years back, but one thing they haven’t lived up to in the Off the Wall legacy is collaborative frequency. Vans as a whole is one of the industry’s most cooperative brands, but to this point, their OTW group has only shown off preview images of upcoming projects with the likes of Lupe Fiasco and Mr. Cartoon in the wake of the In4mation Bedfords that dropped in late 2010. Today we have word of another drop that’ll likely be limited to the immediate area around the guest designer’s headquarters, a Subcrew x Vans OTW Alomar that’ll make those who can’t get them quite jealous with a rich tonal red mix of suede and patent croc skin. The textural contrast extends to a busy red-on-white patterned sockliner that has us wondering what Freegums’ LeBron 9s might have looked like in an alternate palette. Click through to see the latest example of wild animal application in 2012 and stick with Sneaker News for updates on Subcrew’s OTW Alomar. via UrbanLook
