This isn’t your father’s sneakerhead scene, but then again, maybe it is. With a variety of forces converging to push menswear toward premium expressions of traditional styles, we’re seeing more and more iconic styles that previous generations have known and love. Grown-up styles that once made us giggle at grandpa now have a luxurious context and are making themselves known as sneaker themes continue to expand their scope. The Vans OTW Collection takes the animal print craze in a new direction with their ‘Trout Pack’, a quartet of sneakers with apparel and accessories to match the fish-patterned canvas and leather styles. Have a closer look at the Vans OTW Woessner, Ludlow Moc, Cobern 2 and Breton Boot along with a few pieces of gear below and stick with Sneaker News for details as we approach the October drop.

Sneaker News just showed you how the Vans California collection is ready to introduce a fairly realistic bird print on its beloved Authentic plimsoll, and now we see another division tackle a different cast of characters. The Vans OTW Trout Pack brings together the Vans OTW Woessner and Cobern 2, the latter of which is a particularly good fit with its boat shoe origins. To the sneakerheads out there who love to distinguish their kicks with some custom laces, Starks Laces is a household name. The NYC-bred designer of footwear accessories has provided us with great options to give our kicks that extra ‘umph’and has reached beyond Nike and adidas and into the realm of iconic and influential brands like Marc Jacobs, colette, and OriginalFake. Alex Dymond, founder of Starks, was given the opportunity to design a Vans OTW Woessner, and clearly his attention to minute yet powerful details shines through with the zig-zag stitching, metal eyelets, and signature shoeslaces that adorn the nautical-themed canvas and suede uppers. Watch for the Starks x Vans OTW Woessner to hit select Vans OTW retailers this September.

Most people take for granted the value of expanding upon a successful business, but often times in the sneaker industry, keeping the supply limited can be even more profitable. Vans treads the thin line here with their new OTW Collection releases for fall, a slate that’s only available at select Vans retailers, but will be at those locations in a variety of new styles, including one all-new model. We start with new colorways from familiar models like the Vans OTW Alomar, Bedford and Woessner and add three nappy suede looks from the all-new Pritchard derby shoe. Sneaker News has shown you high-profile collaborations with Vans this week, but Hello Kitty and Supreme (x2) aren’t the only ones out there designing Off the Wall colorways. Check out this new run of Vans releases for summer, most of which are from their classic lineup. We’ll start with a trio of Vans Half Cabs in monochromatic canvas uppers plus black tongues, laces and other details. Next up is a quartet of Authentics in similarly simple styles, plus one more in a white/navy two-toned look. The monochromatics resume with three new Old Skool ’77s, with the rarely seen Sk8-Lo coming along in three of its own. Two Chukka Lows and a pair of Woessners from the OTW Collection round out this set, and you can see more images by clicking on the jump below before you grab a pair or two from select Vans retailers like Primitive.
