The thing about collaboration sneakers is that they aren’t the sort to ever get restocked or brought back. Sure, some stores will let go of their stock later than others, but for the most part you won’t get a second chance with silhouettes like these. Which is why it’s so exciting that Vans is bringing back the likes of their band collaborations – the Bad Brains, Circle Jerks, Motorhead, and Rise Against releases will drop at the upcoming SXSW music festival. A different collab will go on sale each day at the Vans Village set up beginning at noon on March 12th, with 50 pairs of each releasing there and an additional of each 100 hitting the next day. Continue reading to see all of these special Vans pairs and tell us in the comments if you’re trying to track some down.

Vans Rowley Pro Lite – Blue – Silver – White

Vans retains the services of original ambassadors like Tony Alva and Steve Caballero to this day.  These guys helped to establish the brand and demonstrate its living legacy, and they also represent a time before skaters shopped themselves to brands and switched company loyalties.  It’s this context that makes Geoff Rowley’s run with Off the Wall significant: not that he’s their longest tenured rider, but that he has been with Vans continuously over a stretch that has seen many skaters come and go.  Geoff’s Vans Rowley Pro Lite takes us back to the 2000 original Rowley pro model but with updated construction as evident on this royal blue pair with reflective silver Jazz stripes.  Have a closer look at them after the jump, then pick up a pair from shops like Flatspot.

Two stalwarts of the skate industry, Vans and Geoff Rowley, are linked up on the new Vans Rowley Pro Lite. The sneakers prove that Vans is every bit committed to innovating as far as their modern models are concerned. On the inside is a pliable, glove like mesh along with the Vans Ultracush Lite sockliner. Up top the traditional stiching is stripped out in favor of the RAPIDWELD tech. Vans Rowley Pro 2013

The tagline on a holiday 2000 ad for Geoff Rowley’s original Off the Wall signature read “Colors optional. Grip comes standard,” in reference to the five colorways and Vans waffle sole, respectively.  And grip the Vans Rowley Pro has, this model whose initial lukewarm retail reception is recalled by Geoff himself as having been “a battle,” whose design can now be seen from a proper perspective as a game-changer.  One of the perfect blends between the classic vulc soled construction of the 1970s and ’80s with the chunkier styles that’d gained traction in the mid-late ’90s, the Rowley Pro 2013 has been refined to ensure all the benefits of the original are maximized.  Have a look at four just released styles (including the Motorhead collabo) after the jump and find yours at select Vans retailers.

Motorhead x Vans Rowley Pro

Geoff Rowley adds another chapter to one of the most prolific if disjointed signature sneaker legacies on record with his latest Off the Wall pro model.  Our first look at the new Vans Rowley Pro reveals it to be something like a shorter, modernized take on the venerable Half Cab.  This particular pair’s white-on-white suede and leather mix belies the fact that this pair was created in collaboration with the British rock legends known by the monster that appears on the tongue tags.  Motorhead’s influence over the design is subtle and stands in contrast to Lemmy and co.’s hard-charging reputation, so have a closer look below, then find yours at select retailers like Concepts.
