Adding a fleece sockliner is a quick way to make any sneaker feel warmer in time for winter, and Vans knows this from experience. Plenty of Off the Wall silhouettes have been treated to fleece fillings, and two more take the plunge this winter, joining a few other water-resistant pig suede styles as part of the Vans Classics ‘Cold Weather’ pack. The Vans Era and Mid Skool ’77 get the fuzzy treatment while the 106 Vulc and Switchback opt for a more traditional build that still has the same moisture-repellent properties. Let us know which style works best after you’ve seen them all below, then grab yours straight from Vans.

Vans beat every other sneaker brand to the boat shoe, and though Michael Jordan and Tinker Hatfield might have something to say about it, they were the first to embrace wingtip styling on their classics as well. Off the Wall has been embellishing their styles with brogue perforations for years now, and the latest effort broadens the base with a couple of new silhouettes in use. The Vans California Era ‘Brogue’ was established early in the FA12 season and gets a new all-red leather getup to coincide with the release of black Slip-Ons and Switchbacks. These are expected in stores next month and you can see more photos below, then be sure to check back with Sneaker News for all the latest vans drops.

You’ve probably referred to them more often as a ‘hairpin turn’, but if you give the word ‘switchback’ a literal exegesis, you might find that it’s a more accurate description of what happens on those twisty roads. Road and rail engineers would ‘switch’ the course of their path ‘back’ across treacherous mountains, but you could choose to head straight to the peak thanks to the rugged style of the Vans Switchback. This boot born of the California collection offers a bit of that classic oxford/plimsoll look but with considerably more reinforcement than, say, an Authentic, and these two suede colorups for fall look the part of a go-to trail shoe. Check them out in greater detail below and stick with Sneaker News for release info. Photos: FNG

Supra gained a bunch of attention from their rapid-fire release schedule last summer, but it was Vans who first applied simple color themes to skate shoe trios, and Off the Wall is back at it for early 2012. This new Vans Matte Black pack brings together three murked-out grainy leather designs that look like they carry the kind of premium quality typically associated with Vans Vault releases. The Vans Chukka Del Barco, Era and Switchback all have a timeless rugged appeal (kinda like a beat-but-beautiful black leather jacket) with tonal black eyelets, laces and classic Vans waffle soles, and they’re available now at select Vans retailers. via FNG

The Vans Vault Snake pack has been slowly slithering its way into retailers, with the next model on the way being the Vans Switchback in both a sleek black and burnt brown colorway. The animal print motif has been big this year, with Vans picking it up on several occasions, but these pairs keep it pretty low key with the snakeskin hitting just around the ankle area. Equally impressive as the reptilian look are the super smooth leathers that constitute the uppers here. Follow us after the jump to check out both pairs and let us how these place amongst the other Switchback variations we’ve seen as of late. via GLLTN
