Most sneakerheads are well aware of the infamous “banned” Air Jordan 1’s that Michael defiantly wore back in 1985, but since then, the NBA rules and regulations regarding footwear have loosened up quite a bit. That said, apparently, there are still certain things considered off-limits when it comes to players’ kicks. The most recent victim of the NBA shoe ban is Andre Iguodala, whose Nike Hyperize PE’s have been deemed unacceptable by the league for having gum outsoles. We’re not exactly sure why gum soles are not permitted, but Iguodala is understandably bummed by the ruling and recently aired his feelings on his Twitter page, along with a photo of three pairs of his outlawed Hyperize PE’s.
