Last month Sneaker News showed you new images of an upcoming Nike Kobe shoe in an all-black colorway; Sneaker News can now officially confirm that the sample is indeed the Nike Zoom Kobe VI (6). Here’s a look at a new White/Purple colorway of the upcoming shoe; the design aspects are nearly similar to the Black/White Sample we showed you before – snakeskin graphic on the toe, embossed snakeskin applique on the heel-bumper – but take a look at the heel and you’ll see the word ‘Venomenon’ stamped on the upper midsole area, an obvious play on words alluding the Kobe Bryant’s slithery alter ego, the ‘Black Mamba‘.
The updated tech-specs of this upcoming Kobe features updated traction as well as a new full-length basketball-specific Zoom Air cushioning unit, going from 16mm at the heel and tapering down to 6mm at the forefoot, which signifies two things: better comfort and probable higher price-point. In these images, the Samples sit atop a newly designed box (but could just be a makeshift podium). Sneaker News has also been informed that the leather version will likely not be produced, but will rather feature a newly designed nylon/elastic type upper material.
