It’s essentially impossible to truly replicate the fullness of one of Jean-Michel Basquiat’s paintings on a sneaker design, so for their latest Affili’art release, Reebok goes in the complete opposite direction and focuses instead on small fraction of one standout piece. The latest Basquiat x Reebok Pump Omni Lite goes with a clean tonal black plus gold design that adds ‘UNDISCOVERED GENIUS’ script on the lateral heels as a tribute to 1983’s ‘Undiscovered Genius of the Mississippi Delta’. These certainly aren’t the most audacious of RBK’s Basquiat drops, but adding just a touch of the Radiant Child’s brilliance to this iconic silhouette makes for a welcome twist on the familiar.
