Following up on some fairly subdued styles last summer where floral prints took center stage, New York’s Opening Ceremony goes over the top, adding a tremendously eye-catching remix on an oft-overlooked classic hightop known for its simplicity. The Opening Ceremony x adidas Originals Rod Laver Vintage High is utterly jarring, thanks to high-contrast stripes arranged vertically with a split down the middle that furthers the sense of optical distortion. White and black soled designs feature different stripe configurations but both emphasize lemon-lime and they’ll bring a fresh flavor to the summer fashion season when they hit retailers like LuisaViaRoma by April 2013.
