Nike Air Max Kabutomushi collection

Nike Air Max Kanutomushi Collection 01

Over the years, the leading trio of Air Max runners – we’re talking of course of the Nike Air Max 1, Nike Air Max 90, and Nike Air Max 95 – have seen their fare share of unique take downs and inspirations. Perhaps one of the more far-reaching of late is this Kabutomushi Collection. The Kabutomushi, or Japanese rhinoceros beetle, serves as the inspiration for these brash colorways rooted in Anthracite, Team Orange, and Catalina. The iridescent Safari print serves as a motif to represent the beetle’s metallic outer shell, and while each of the three silhouettes utilize the famed Tinker Hatfield-helmed pattern, they do so in rather different ways. The Air Max Lunar90 shows up here too – the only updated variety in the entire collection – and features an enticing two-toned lunarlon outsole displaying the Catalina hue contrasting a Team Orange Air Max unit. There’s no word yet on whether this Air Max collection will be arriving stateside in the near future, but you can be on the lookout for the trio to hit Japanese retailers on December 27th, 2014.
