Nike Sportswear is ready to give Penny Hardaway’s signature line another chapter with the official release of the Air Penny 6. The sneakers act more like a hybrid of previous models, with some key design details like the jelly Swoosh, visible Air on the heel, and the herringbone traction akin to the Air Flight one, but there are plenty of new features that deem this an all-new design. Joining this “Orlando” colorway of the Penny 6 is an Air Foamposite One release inspired by one of the most memorable on-court sneaker moments in Penny’s career; when Hardaway wore the “Royal”pair of the Air Foamposite One in a game, he was forced to color in the indented ridges with a black sharpie marker in order to comply with league uniform rules (at least half the shoe had to be black). The Nike Air Penny “Sharpie” Pack will officially release on July 4th at select Nike Sportswear Basketball retailers and will be sold as a set. The shoes will not be available separately.
