Kevin Durant ditched slick nicknames like Durantula and the Slim Reaper to give himself the title of The Servant in honor of his devotion to the Bible and Christianity. The latest Nike KD 8 colorway takes inspiration from Kevin Durant’s favorite Bible quote, Matthew 11:29, as the insole reads “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” This is the first KD 8 pair that truly shows off the flexibility of the Flyweave knit upper as numerous angels fly throughout the grey and white upper while beams of light serve as stripes. A pink outsole adds a rose-tinted splash of color for good measure. It was rumored that there would be a servant-like motif on Durant’s eighth signature model, but sources have confirmed that this version in particular is just for KD himself.
