It’s been weird to see Kobe go into opposing stadiums and get standing ovations throughout the season, but none will ever match chants of Kobe by the Boston faithful in TD Garden last night. In an unexpected move, the people who probably reviled Kobe the most throughout his career decided to give him the kindest of goodbyes, and what a game it was: Kobe hit a clutch three to put the game away late in the fourth quarter against the Boston Celtics for a little reminder of how heated the Lakers-Celtics rivalries could be. The Black Mamba also debuted his Nike Kobe 11 last night in that matching purple Flyknit colorway with a new icy blue outsole unit slated to release in late February.
