adidas Hasn’t Discussed Dropping Kanye West, Says CEO Kasper Rorsted
In a live interview with Bloomberg, adidas CEO Kasper Rorsted has stated that adidas has no plans of dropping Kanye West in light of the YEEZY head’s highly controversial comments on TMZ earlier this week. Rorsted, who dodges most of the questions relating to Kanye, does mention that he hasn’t had any contact with him and that discussions to cut ties haven’t been made. West, who left Nike and signed with adidas in late 2013, has been one of the most polarizing figures in the industry. His recent rhetoric may have further distanced himself from critics, with petitions for adidas to drop him already garnering signatures. Rorsted does say that “there are clearly some comments we don’t support”, although it remains to be seen if the brand will make an executive decisions to move on from the YEEZY brand partnership.
In a recently published video interview with Charlamagne Tha God, Kanye West does extend an apology to Nike CEO Mark Parker, thanking him for giving the opportunity to design the Nike Air Yeezy 1.
