Although NBA All-Star Weekend in Charlotte is a celebration of basketball, that doesn’t mean skateboarding can’t join the festivities as well. Charlotte’s Black Sheep Skate Shop is a long-time Nike SB partner, and they’ve readied a special “Black Hornet” SB Dunk High to serve as part of the All-Star Weekend release slate, complete with some very special “Hornet’s Nest” packaging. Drawing from Charlotte’s rebellious heritage — and providing an entirely literal take on the Charlotte Hornets — their city-centric Dunk High features shimmering iridescent detailing, overlaid with a classic elephant print.

The shoe will first release in the special “Hornet’s Nest” edition with extra accoutrements February 15th, exclusively at Black Sheep in Charlotte. Consisting of a special wrapped box, extra laces, honeycomb lace debures, a drawstring bag, stickers, and a mini basketball, the “Hornet’s Nest” pack takes the Queen City inspiration a step further with a loving homage to hometown and home team. If you’re not in Charlotte, you’ll still be able to get a pair — minus the extra accessories and special packaging — at skate shops on February 22nd and Nike SNKRS February 24th. Grab a detailed look at the special box set below, and check out our 2019 All-Star Sneaker Release Guide to see what else is dropping this week/weekend.
