The high fashion mania that is Vivienne Westwood returns to the sneaker world with a second ASICS capsule, throwing down Italian Renaissance era imagery atop three distinctly different silhouettes. One, the GEL-DS Trainer OG, is of more modern color blocking with a diverse range of colors fitting atop one of the brand’s more recent throwbacks. Hits of cool tones in varying shades sit next to salmon pinks, bright yellows, and a hanging “CHAOS” imprinted tab while hiding prints of similarly styled artwork slyly across the insole — a trend that finds its way across the accompanying two. Simple in relative terms, the GEL-Saga finds itself in almost colorless presentation with whites covering the entirety of the upper though with small touch-ups of grey across the stamped model branding, small heel panelling, and inner lining. The Hyper GEL-Lyte, however, is much more extravagant in its all-over print of the iconic work, depicting Venus and Mars in almost full form next to a range of whimsical swathes of blue and green.
