With the arrival of Protro, it seems the entire eponymous Kobe lineage is getting its second chance at stardom, and as they traverse from old to new, Nike has finally arrived on the one that’s been nearly an entire decade in the making. Possibly dropping on the same date as it did years ago, the “Chaos” colorway sees to the updated Kobe 5 Protro silhouette in what is a perfect translation of its every accent though with slightly sharper edges and more defined features. From colors to constructions, the likeness is uncanny: white overlays surround iridescent textures of almost animalistic appearance, with the same volt greens taking up the swoosh, tread, and tongue logo. Laces bear the distinct red and black dotted patterning against a backdrop of ballistic mesh, one of the more subtle fixtures next to the slight paint splattering atop the midsole. The athlete’s signature can also be found elegantly stamped along the heel, incorporating all the finer points even down to the insole graphic. Grab a detailed look at the pair right here and keep an eye on Nike.com on January 3rd as it would be the most fitting for its re-release.
