Darth Vader And His Lightsaber Appear On The adidas NMD R1

Within the universe of the Star Wars x adidas collaborations, it seems no episode out of the entire chronology is off limits as the themes themselves often go from modern to retro at lightspeed. First tapping icons such as Yoda and newer protagonists like Rey, the releases have only now begun to embrace the dark side with inspirations drawing from Storm Troopers and now the legendary Darth Vader. Once at the top of the Empire itself, the prophesied hero turned villain is now taking up ship on the NMD R1 with colors resemblant of his most recognizable features. Black armor swaps out for woven layers at the upper next to overlaid pieces and taped strips following in that very same tone, only texture is slightly divergent as they prefer a rubber-like finish or slight gloss, respectively. Gradients along the Boost go from neutral to bright red — a nod to his saber color of choice — leading up to one of his most iconic quotes: “Join me and together we can rule the galaxy.” Grab a detailed look at the pair right here and expect a release to hit adidas.com on December 17th.
