Long before Melody Ehsani stole the show in late 2019 with her masterful Air Jordan 1 Mid collaboration, she’s been carving her own distinguished lane since 2007 with her jewelry and streetwear designs while maintaining brick-and-mortar presences in NYC and Los Angeles. Certainly not new to shoe collaborations – she’s had an extended run with Reebok throughout the early-mid 2010s – Ehsani was ready to tease her next foray with Jumpman, revealing today her sporty take on the recently revived Air Jordan Womens. The shoes feature a black and bright red base with reflective piping on the silhouette’s distinct upper, while enlarged cherry dubrae sit at the base of the laces. Ehsani also points to the short yet poignant timeline of women in basketball, noting the original ads of the Air Jordan Womens as well as Sanaa Lathan’s portrayal of Monica in 2000’s Love And Basketball. A first release date is not yet known, the first Melody Ehsani Jordan Womens teaser did confirm a March drop. If you’re interested in the model itself, the Air Jordan Womens recently dropped in a Barely Rose colorway.
