Forgoing a trio this time around, sacai‘s latest and possibly final release of the Nike LDWaffle refines its approach, constructing with a much sturdier set of nylons, suedes, and leathers across two monochromatic colorways: one a versatile black and the other a full white. The latter, which will wear in much more visibly with time, is certainly the most standout option of the set, with the multiplied motif of Chitose Abe’s making appearing comparatively pronounced thanks heavily in part to the lighter shading. From the toe cap to the swoosh and the heel wrap, every line stitches with clear quality control, sitting unwarped unlike that of the inaugural releases. And though the pair’s entire appearance is exposed bright, there does lie a bit of variance from panel to panel as the suede that often sits in the background seems to hint with cream while the rest — satin laces, untouched tooling, etc. — dresses much more pure.
