While absent from this year’s Air Max Day, the Nike Air Max Tailwind IV is just as much a testament to the timelessness of visible Air cushioning as the headlining Air Max 90.

Long removed from its ’90s heyday, the predecessor to the yet-to-retro Tailwind V has enjoyed a healthy second (and third) life throughout the past two decades. A Supreme collaboration in Spring/Summer 2019 brought newfound attention to the model, but the ’99 silhouette kept enthusiasts entertained on its own laurels. Of-the-era reds, greens and blues have adorned the Air Max Tailwind IV recently, with the most latter proffering an upcoming gradient composition. Akin to the original Air Max Plus, TPU overlays sit atop a fading blue that’s equal parts retro and futuristic. Elsewhere, the shade solidifies into navy and takes over the mesh at the forefoot, midfoot and heel à la Air Monarch. Accents on the visible Airbags down below follow suit, as do the outsoles.

No official release date is yet known, but this Tailwind IV is likely to arrive quietly to Nike.com in the coming weeks. Until then, enjoy official images of the pair here below.

Away from the visible Air cushioning, another React Presto has surfaced in a clean “Platinum Tint” and “Diffused Blue” ensemble.
