Through their runners, Nike makes use of a number of inspirations. And while one half is simple in their logically bright colorways, the other delves into the eccentric or culturally rich. Case in point, this upcoming Daybreak Type layers on many an Eastern influence in a fashion that’s somehow both bold and moderate.

The Swoosh, whose entire shape relies on the overlaid pattern, seems to borrow from traditional technique. These stamps mark both ends of the profile, their deep navy shades contrasted against a grey mesh backdrop on the lateral and saturated green alternate on the medial. Forward, hits of light aqua blue further turn the palette more colorful in tandem with the mustard yellow heel tab and stitch. Moreover, the tongue label etches with a new, pack-exclusive logo, while the heel and forefoot feature complementing characters and graphics, respectively.
