Known and loved by amateurs and professionals alike, Polaroid is easily one of the most iconic photography brands of all-time. The name has since become synonymous with the instant photo, and they continue to provide both film and compatible cameras to the masses.
Despite teaming up with fragment design, Teva, and even Star Wars in the past, Polaroid has rarely ever brought their Spectrum to sneaker culture. Tomorrow, however, that changes thanks to Nike SB, who have graciously offered the 85-year-old company their very own Dunk Low.
Design-wise, the collaboration is quite simple. Save for a few details, the construction is rendered near entirely monochrome. White shades dress the midsole and lower heel, while black darkens the upper elsewhere — and together, these effectively mirror instant film pre-exposure. Finally, the above-mentioned Spectrum inspires the Swoosh, sockliner, and toe box embroidery, while the Polaroid name sits comfortably atop the right heel tab, lace tips, and left insole.
