We’re officially in the final month of 2022, which means the biggest players in the sneaker space are prepping final releases while previewing some of what they’re planning for the next year.

Shannon Abloh, wife of the late Virgil Abloh, had her first interview since the passing of the former Off-White-frontman with the New York Times. In the conversation, the now-Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Virgil Abloh Securities shared that her late husband and NIKE, Inc. had a 50-year plan. The first celebration of Abloh’s legacy organized will be an event during Miami Art Week this weekend. The “Virgil Abloh: The Codes c/o Architecture” exhibit has handfuls of never-before-seen work from Off-White and NIKE, Inc. on display, giving casual and savvy consumers alike another look into the mind of the Illinois-native.

The team at New Balance showcased its ability to partner with strategic collaborators in a compelling way yet again. The folks “Down Under” at the Up There Store unveiled their second New Balance 2002R “Backyard Legends” ahead of the sneaker’s drop date on Saturday, December 10th. Away from the special editions, the New Balance 9060 emerged in stylish “Ivory” and “Truffle” ensembles to close out the year.

The Three Stripes continued to tap its extensive roster of collaborators to update several adidas Originals designs for the holiday season. First up?: Bad Bunny, who shared his last adidas Forum Buckle Low design ahead of his tour dates across Mexico. The next drop from the Puerto Rican superstar and adidas favors a snowy aesthetic that plays into his “Un Verano Sin Ti” album’s concept. Disney’s Alice In Wonderland lent its Cheshire Cat character to the Campus 80s, further expanding the creative collaborative catalog between the North American institution and German sportswear behemoth. Elsewhere, the Three Stripes also teased a revamp to its adidas Basketball program, which apparently will no longer be led by Jerry Lorenzo as was initially reported.

For a look at all that and more, including Air Jordan and Nike Air Force 1 releases, check out our top headlines from November 26th to December 2nd ahead.
