The Nike Lunar Roam was one of the biggest announcements out of Nike running towards the end of last year, reprising 2000s sole technology that had sat on the shelf for about a decade prior. As successive pairs have been unveiled, the bulk of them have trended towards rather staid palettes, either in gray, blue or black. Turning that trend upside down, the upcoming Nike Lunar Roam in “Pink Sherbet” displays a new kind of look for the tech spotlight sneaker.

It’s not hard to see how these got their (unofficial) nickname. The color choices absolutely scream summer, with the dominant raspberry tone only clearing way for orange once or twice. The midsole is where they have to share space, eschewing a gradient mix for a hard break between the two colors. For the uninitiated, that section of the shoe is where the technological throwback chiefly occurs. The staggered, spring-like construction there is the functionality that lends the Lunar Roam their name.

On the uppers of the shoe, they’re given a spotty feel by the translucent panels that overhang an otherwise entirely mesh silhouette. While those partially opaque bridges are a staple of each Lunar Roam release, here they serve a principal aesthetic role, darkening key hinge points on an shoe that’s completely neon shaded outside of them.

No release date has been set for the Nike Lunar Roam “Pink Sherbet” just yet, but their release will be announced on SNKRS before hitting the Nike website.
